It was a brilliant speech tonight by our next president, Barack Obama. He played offense and defense equally well.

I wish I could go and vote right now for Barack for president. But early voting doesn't start for 7.5 weeks so I'll have to wait a bit.

    God bless America!!!!

I particularly liked the part where BHO said something to the effect of, "Now I'm gonna tell ya just how I'm gonna bring all this change about." Then he proceeded to rattle off a big list of all the things he's gonna do. At each point he said, "I will" do this and "I will" do that. The funny thing was that while he did roll out his list of "I wills" he never quite got around to explaining how he is going to do any of them.

So my question is how BHO how?

I heard that in the speech there were 29 specific policy prescriptions. Therefore, from henceforth, anyone who says that Barack is not being specific enough doesn't know what he/she is talking about.

Obama said how in his speech. I heard it, you might need to listen again to what he said.

He moved to be a centrist for change

He moved to be an agent of change with the specifics but KenH notice how he moved to the center to the point of being a moderate Republican when he went after waste and bureaucracy that rings true to the middle and pushing into conservative territory, it was not a Liberal type speech.

I agree the people want change and it is the people who dictate it , he understands that and gets it.

    Great speech, Great History
btw it probably won him the state of Colorado with that many people leaving and going home motivated. What was the final number in Invesco 85,000 and did they turn people away?

"he never quite got around to explaining how he is going to do any of them"

PBS had an analyst that went through a bunch of his financial programs and stated that there were a lot of how to's missing, but overall it didn't look much different than Bush's doings

    You missed the speech?

He was as vague, as any Democrat in my memory....

I was parked in front of my TV drinking a Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper watching the next president of the United States deliver a great speech.

Yep. That was exactly the point that Pat Buchanan, a conservative, made in his analysis.

i agree Ken, that was one great speech and he hit every point he needed to hit including can he be commander and chief. I plan to watch the Republicans but I doubt they can top this show. Not just the speech but the stadium was a great idea and it was a beautiful night in the mile high city. It's as if God was on his side...

I don't know if the Republicans can top this show, but let's admit it was a show. You can't govern from the convention.

I just watched a bit of his speech, and I don't see what the big deal is. He is a good speaker to be sure, but listen to what he says. He doesn't actually say much of substance. It is all about the show.

Senator Obama's speech tonight had plenty of substance. Clearly, Pastor Larry, you don't know what you are talking about.

Candidates that get elected generally move towards the center because that's how to win. Republicans have talked about reducing the size of government for a long time but have never really done anything about including Ronald Reagan. I think he actually increased the size of the federal bureaucracy after making reducing it a cornerstone of his campaign.

You should have listened to all of it. He gave much substance and touched on every negative attack he is getting from the republicans.

This is not true! I watched the speech and think it was one of the best I have ever heard.

I can't wait until old man McBush stumbles through his acceptance speech, if he can stay awake long enough to deliver it.

Nice personal attack. I know the part of the speech I saw, and I know there was no substance in it. Perhaps there was other places, but I do know what I am talking about.

Reality check: I just have to chuckle. 4 of the past 8 years had a Democratically controlled Congress. It seems like the Dems & BHO have blocked that part out of their collective minds.
