So while it is true that a Seventh-day Baptist by the name of Rachael Oaks played a significant role in getting Sunday-Keeping Adventists to accept the Bible Sabbath ... it is also true that there are some differences between the SDA denomination and the SDB. I listed some differences between SDB vs SDA on this other thread #1 BobRyan, Saturday at 8:40 AM But that thread does not have this title and some may miss the fact that the thread starts off on page 1 with some of the differences. (post #3 I think) On that thread I started off with a few points in common such as - Like SDB Adventists believe in The Triune Godhead – God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, 66 books of the Bible saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8-10), literal creation week (Ex 20:11, Gen 2:1-3), literal resurrection of Christ (after the cross) and of the saints (in the future), literal 2nd coming that is future. Sabbath remains on Saturday Like Protestants Adventists believe · Sola Scriptura testing of all doctrine and tradition, · Historicist model of prophetic interpretation · Ten Commandments included in the Moral Law of God binding on all mankind as stated in Eph 6:2, 1Cor 7:10, Mark 7:6-13, “Baptist Confession of Faith” sectn 19, and “Westminster Confession of Faith Sectn 19” – and Dies Domini · Commandments of God are not editable Mark 7:6-13 Like Calvinists Adventists believe Sinful nature – depravity of man Romans 3:9-18 Only the supernatural drawing of God can overcome it. John 6:44 God fully knows the future I then list at least a dozen items that are probably differences. Those who find more differences are free to post them here. One difference is in size of group. Another is that we have the 2nd largest Christian and privately owned educational and hospital healthcare system in the world as well what may be the 2nd largest Christian disaster relief agency in the world. And of course we have one of the five "Blue Zones" in the world. But I am sure there are other differences - than the ones listed on the other threads - just can't think of what they are at the moment.
