It amazes me that were talking about a pervert preaching. And it gets turned into we do not believe God can change someone. I know God could keep a transfer truck from hitting me if I step in front of it. But he gave me enough sense to not do it. If I stepped in front of a truck and died does that mean God failed? No it means I was stupid.

The article says that he "was unapologetic about his crimes."

If this man were in my church and he had sincerely repented I would forgive him but I still wouldn't allow my daughters anywhere near him. I just think we have to be smart about these things. I do believe that God can completely deliver people from sin but how do these people really know that about him? Just because he says so? Nope, I wouldn't tempt him with my daughters. I guess he would just have to be offended.

He needs to face the consequences of his actions. Even after completing a prison sentence there are consequences to his actions that will follow him for the rest of his life. Jeffrey Hannah is a registered sex offender in the state of Illinois. That means there are restrictions placed upon him as to where he can live, or even where he can be if children are present. I don't know how the laws effect Churches, but that is a consequence of his past actions.

If it were my Church I would have to keep him away from a position of leadership and also away from any youth ministry activities for the protection of the children. His forgiveness is between himself and God, but as a church leader I must protect the children and the church.

Mt 18:21 Then came peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Mt 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Forgive others? Yes! Trust them? Maybe not.

If it was my child I would forgive him after I killed him.
