I was having lunch and good conversation with my brother, I used the following verse to casually emphasize something I had just said. This prompted much fruitful discussion and bible study.

2Co 5:16 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.

To me, I think I understood the verse simply. Since it had such an impact on him and others now, I wanted to get insight from you.

What does this verse (in context) mean to you and how can it be applied in real life?

2 Corinthians 5:16 (NCV = new century version):

From this time on we do not think of
anyone as the world does. In the past we
thought of Christ as the world thinks, but we
no longer think of him in that way.

When Jesus God saves, He saves the
mind also, which begins to think of things
in new (and better) ways. Jesus begins
to live in us so we thing different,
    different from the world, differnt
    about Jesus. Amen! [IMG]

    ASV. you used ASV?

    2 Corinthians 5:16 (ASV):

Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the
flesh: even though we have known Christ after
the flesh, yet now we know [him so] no more.

Why did i have to search through a half-dozen
different Bibles when the original poster
should have had their Bible right in
front of them and should have told us
    straight up.

What i don't understand is why they took
    my BAPTIST SMILEY away
You know, the happy face that jumped up
and put one hand over his head!
(if two hands over the head, they
would have been to carismatic to
    be Baptist ;) )
