There Ken, that wasn't so hard, was it? [IMG]

I don't disagree with your point, but it wasn't clear in the earlier posts. My point is that I don't believe that just because she has some family members that disagree with her, Mrs. Sheehan is not wrong to expect her president to talk to her about why her son was killed.

President Bush has already talked with her and her husband.

Mrs. Sheehan has accused the president of killing her son. She doesn't want a dialogue, she just wants to harangue.

If he meets with her(again) then I think he owes me a meeting as well to discuss my differences with some of his policies.

Then you need to go camp out in the ditch outside his "vacation" home with Mrs. Sheehan.

She had the whole thing planned in advance. She has met with two top administrative aides of Bush and has gotten the signatures of 38 or so top Democrats in Congress on a letter. This is clearly an orchestrated Democrat Party event.

Of course, it's a staged event. I read a column of her's months ago on www.lewrockwell.com. I emailed her at the time and gave her my condolences. She emailed me back thanking me. I didn't know I was exchanging emails with a future international celebrity.

I lost my son. When he died, I reached out to God.

I became deeply involved in Juvenile services division for my department of law enforcement. I figured if I could apply myself to helping parents and children, maybe none of them would go through what I did, or worse, what my Bradley did.

Yelling at the man who killed my son, (and in my case, there was one person responsible), does not affect any change whatsoever.

There were newspaper reporters who wanted me to comment on how bad the police handled the case. There were laywers who wanted me to sue the county, the police, and the mayor. But I decided to live my life in a way that would bring credit to my 12 year old son. There is no amount of legislation, lawsuit winnings, or hurtful words that will get me what I really want.

I know that there is nothing I can do to bring him back, and that is really all that would ever make this nightmare cease.

What this woman is doing is bringing discredit to her son and using his death to further her own cause. Her son Cody went through far worse than she ever will. No amount of personal ambition will ever make that any different. She needs help. Both spiritual and mental.

    I have to add:
    This is not about Iraq.

This is about a family grieving. Although we who sit on the sidelines and offer our condolences, they should be doing this in private.

I firmly believe that God honors such a response.

I think you have wisely acted in that you have to live with your decisions long after the others have totally forgotten you and the circumstances.

I respect your choice VERY much and pray that God gives you the comfort and peace that only He can give!

I had not realized you lost a child. What a beautiful testimony you gave. May God bless you, and guard your heart against the pain of anger.

I'm beginning to think she barely knew Casey. I wonder if it would come as a surprise to her that he enlisted voluntarily and then reenlisted and volunteered for combat duty. (True, in past she has admitted knowing this, but she seems to have a short memory.) Not only that, but he planned to go career. He did what he chose to do, and now she's blaming someone else for her son's choices and demeaning his sacrifice.
