    rbrent,
I understand your thinking. I live in Fort Worth (which Kennedale is a suburb of) and applauded this when I first heard of it.
However, my brother gave me a similar scenario involving myself. What if some local evolution group were to film me or my licence plate at my church then send postcards to the school admins where I teach science, plus all of my fellow teachers, all of my students and their parents. What do you think the outcome/outcry of that would be? I dare say I would be "convicted" of something without ever getting to state my position.

Another thing. I have often ministered to addicts on the street. I would hate for someone to see/film me at some of the places I've been without giving me a chance to explain.
These folks should be given the same chance in a face to face. It seems a bit cowardly the way they're (the church) going about it. I think Jesus would do a face to face.
    Peace to all.

LadyEagle isn't a preacher/pastor! She's a patron of this BB just like I am---and this BB isn't church! Its a debate forum for Baptist folks! On this debate site I'm no different than the county garbage man who is no different than the Mayor!

What are you gonna say to the trooper who pulls you over to give you a speeding ticket---and she happens to be a woman?? "You can't speak to me, M'am??"

If this Pastor really wants to reach these people he should meet them face to face.

Stating that they have a legal right does not mean I support the legal right. The fact is that for now it is legal in that community. I applaud the pastor for wanting to do something about it, but I disagree with the method. It is possible to agree with someone but disagree with the method they choose to use. I believe this method does more harm than good. Christ reached out in love. I'm sure the pastor loves the people he is trying to reach, but I'm not sure the "perverts" would look at it that way.

Here is a reference to "Operation Daniel", which is taking place about 50 miles away from my home:

    http://news.christiansunite.com/Religion_News/religion00358.shtml

AgapePress) - When the "Lion's Den" opened its adult toy and video store in Abilene, Kansas, last September, little did they know the opposition would be so relentless.

Within days, the newly formed Citizens For Strengthening Community Virtues (CFSCV) officially began a sustained effort to drive the business out of operation.

Organizer and Abilene citizen Phillip Cosby initially recruited 80 other men to join him in a 100-day campaign of picketing near the Lion's Den entrance just off Interstate 70. Today, the group has swelled to over 140 local men and women committed to one- and two-hour shifts near the store location.

Cosby says the goal is a simple one: Encourage potential customers to reconsider pulling into the parking lot. CFSCV members hold large signs proclaiming to motorists, "Think Again or We Will Report." The sign warns truckers and corporate travelers that their companies and bosses will be contacted about employee activities at the porn store.

Cosby says this strategy has greatly abridged the financial success of the store. "About 30% of the people who would otherwise go into the Lion's Den either drive on by or turn around in the parking lot and then drive away."

He said about 75% of truckers have turned away after seeing the protesters.

Other CFSCV programs include "Operation Voice," a letter-to-the-editor campaign to media outlets, and "Operation Re-write," which concentrates on the adoption of new county and city zoning ordinances to combat these types of businesses.

But Cosby says the most effective program has been "Operation Prayer," calling citizens to constant prayers for God's intervention in the matter.

Drew, I see nothing wrong with the way these folks are going about it. I do with the candid camera routine.

We are called to pray and confront in "love." Not to spy and possibly violate privacy laws.

I once stood on a street corner for an hour, holding a sign which read,"Abortion Takes One Human Life". It was in conjunction with Life Sunday and part of the lifeline across America. I spent the hour in silent prayer and psalms. I do not do it any more because the local group is under the leadership of the RCC.

I am not personally affected by the porno, or the activists, but I honor their stand and their dedication. If I were in their area I would probably participate, and I would be offering tracts to the drivers as they entered the parking lots.

If I was in Wichita I would be outside the Tiller abortuary with a sign, and tracts for those misguided victims entering.

    May God bless.

I also live in Fort Worth and find these methods that are being used to be way out in left field. Not that someone would misinterpret why I would be entering an adult video store (we all know why people go to those), but that the Scriptures do not encourage believers to be snitches and self-appointed private detectives. Quite frankly, this type of behavior is the same as you would find in a cult like the Jehovah's Witnesses, not from a supposedly Christian pastor.

The sinner never worries about his sin, or he wouldn't be a sinner, eh? Satan blinds him, but sinners must be told that their sin offends God. Only then will they repent.

Shall we all be silent & just let them worry about themselves? True Christians are called to judge sin and sinners. Yes, judge them; yes, "show" them their sin. It is our DUTY to Christ to call others out for sinful behavior.

I can hold a sign that says "Abortion is murder" & folks will ride right on by & many give thumbs-up...but you let me hold a "picture" of aborted baby Malachi, & women scream(or worse) at me. Something about seeing one's sin is effective!

Truth of the matter is...that if you love your neighbor, you tell them the truth. I'm glad someone loved me enough to preach the evil out of me.

Offering tracts to drivers entering the parking lot is a completely different thing than the tactics described here. I would support offering tracts. Just because people don't support the specific way this is being done doesn't mean they don't think anything should be done.

I agree 100%. Picketing peaceably is fine. Sleuthing undercover is not.

Have any of you ever herd of xxxchurch.com? This is a ministry that is dedicated to helping people with a porn adiction. I have worked with them before and they are great. Just thought I would let you all know about a great resource to help people.

It's all in the way they do it. Breaking the law by getting their private information that is protected by law is not the right way.

How does breaking the law by invading privacy glorify God? people have been saved? These people are making excuses for breaking the law.
Does that also mean people can invade your privacy for whatever reason they feel is right? Can someone take pictures of your car in your church parking lot and send you information about their religion or beliefs or their practices? Can a group of homosexuals do this and send you information on being a homosexual and it is preferable to heterosexuality? What about a group of satanists? Abortionists? Can someone take a picture of your car for the purpose of invading your privacy for their own purposes? Would you agree to that being legal? Even if their are laws protecting you from having this happen to you?

Here are they only reasons you can legally get the personal information

Use of this information is limited to
Since it is illegal to gain this information in Texas, and this church does not meet the standards of being able to obtain this information, then they themselves are breaking the law. What about that? Is it OK for churches to break the law if that law does not require them to break God's law?
So the question isn't should Christians defend porn perverts and adult book store owners, but rather, should Christian break the law so the can stalk people who are not breaking the law?

Well, she is not a Christian, so I would expect her to disobey the laws of God.

I may have missed it but I saw NO ONE defending Adult Bookstores or sin but only concerned with the way this is being handled by that church.

Fight to keep these stores out of your area, put up signs inviting people to church, etc. but if I had been caught doing something wrong and had someone try to blackmail me into coming to church.... I think I'd run the other way.

WHAT?? Let me guess! The lady cop can't be a Christian because she wears pants or because she's in authority. Both? LOLOL
