    I may have missed it but I saw NO ONE defending Adult Bookstores or sin but only concerned with the way this is being handled by that church.

    Here’s what you apparently missed...

    Sounds to me like a defense of the adult book stores - in any event, the responses struck me as odd, especially from folks who profess to believe the scriptures.

    How would you respond to more than 300 perverts a month driving into your neighborhood to buy or rent pornography?

    Would you have any concern at all for the safety of the children and women in the neighborhood?

    rbrent, we have a Blockbuster Video in town. I'm sure more than 300 people a month rent porn! We have probably 4,000 houses in my county. I wonder how many order R rated movies off their satellites? Then there are the magazines.... I can't and won't antagonize them by sending them post cards to their homes. What if a divorce is caused by that postcard? Is that not causing a little one to sin or causing something that God abhors?

    I contend that we should love these people and visit homes, send out post cards to share what our church has to offer but NOT take photos of their cars, track down their names and then send pictures of them 'sinning' to their homes.

    If an adult establishment tried to come into our town they'd probably quickly change their mind. Remember that I'm in an area that has MANY more churches than gas stations, banks, grocery stores, dollar stores and fast food joints combined! However, I'd be there to protest! IF they were allowed into town, I would NOT antagonize the people who went there tho. I don't think that would be an endorsement of their sin. I'm not a lukewarm type person. Our church has 'cold call' visitation where we just go out and witness. The Lord leads us to the homes.

    Yep, it's called the Constitution, maybe you should read it sometime. You take away someone else's rights, you give up ours too.

    You have not addressed this church breaking the law, I assume you believe Christians breaking the law is biblical, like to try and show that.

    Sounds to me like you do not really understand the concept of liberty. The same rights that empower you to live your life the way you see fit are the same rights those people have to live their lives. Liberty means taking the good with the bad.

    They came for the Communists, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Communist;
    They came for the Socialists, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Socialist;
    They came for the labor leaders, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a labor leader;
    They came for the Jews, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Jew;
    Then they came for me - And there was no one left to object.

    It is all about the Constitution. No one I know is defending pornography on this forum. If you want to get rid of such establishments, seek to have town ordinances against them.

    Let us remember these people are sinners in need of the Grace of God. Before you condemn them there are no doubt others in your neighborhood indulging in porno on the internet or pay per view on TV, in secret. I don't condemn these people because Christ does not condemn them (John 3:17). They need Him because they are in bondage to the flesh. Don't rail against the darkness, shine the light of Christ. Well known CCM singer Clay Crosse struggled with pornography as he describes in this link before being set free http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2000/106/57.0.html

    It is a real battle for many and they need our prayers, support and witness and not our condemnation.

    Actually donnA, I did address the legality issue in the post that started this thread:

    That sounds to me like the legal opinion of local attorney John Gamboa, who is familiar with the situation, who represented one of the other porn shops in that town. I'm confident he is aware of applicable Texas laws and he says Pastor Norwood's photo campaign is harmless...and he has every right to do it.

    If you folks were NOT defending the porn shops by your comments, that's fine with me - I'll accept your word on that but some of the comments sure sounded like a defense.

    No you did not. I posted straight from the TX DMV that what they are doing is illegal. Problem is they are not staying within the bounds of the law. Obtaining the information they use to harass these people is illegal. They can not legally obtain their names and addresses. Did you not read not post? I posted it twice. I will post it again for you to see since you are not reading all posts apparently. What you should be believing is the laws for the state of Texas, I gave the Link to the DMV for the state of Tx that proves what they are doing is illegal. You have not addressed this. Still after drawing your attention to it you still have no problem with this church breaking the law, committing a crime, where as the people they are harassing are not breaking any Tx laws.
    Please see below for Tx law, proof they are breaking the law.

    PLEASE TELL WHY IT IS ALRIGHT FOR THIS CHURCH TO BREAK THIS LAW. AND YES THERE US A LAW IN TEXAS PROTECTING PEOPLE RIGHT TO PRIVACY. IF YOU'LL SEE THE LINK BELOW YOU'LL FIND THIS IS A STATE OF TEXAS OFFICAL SITE FOR THE DMV, SO THEY SHOULD KNOW WHAT THEIR OWN LAWS ARE. YOU ON THE OTHR HAND DO NOT.

    Here are they only reasons you can legally get the personal information

    Use of this information is limited to
    Since it is illegal to gain this information in Texas, and this church does not meet the standards of being able to obtain this information, then they themselves are breaking the law. What about that? Is it OK for churches to break the law if that law does not require them to break God's law?
    So the question isn't should Christians defend porn perverts and adult book store owners, but rather, should Christian break the law so the can stalk people who are not breaking the law?

    No one has yet to respond to my previous post:

    If you have a neighbor who's home watching football, and the ref makes a bad call, and he yells out a phrase that takes the name of the Lord in vain, should he be subject to the same judgement?

    What if the church took the "graven image" commandment to the extreme, and felt that depictions of Christ on screen was immoral? Should such a church be allowed to subject everyone who goes to see "The Passion of the Christ" to the same judgement?

    If a person gets drunk and is in his own house, should he be subject to the same judgement?

What if they have no children, what should she do all day, twiddle her thumbs and watch the grass grow? Theres only so much house cleaning and cooking she can do. Are you saying God never blesses a woman with a job where she can use talents and education He has given her?

    Why? There's no biblical ban on women working. I'm dating a school teacher (teaching at a Christian school), who is following her God-given calling to teach. If we decide to get married, it would be unbiblical for me to insist that she abandon that calling.

    Also dating is unscriptual.

    Dating- temporary romantic relationship

    which leads to........

    flirt- to "court" without serious intent

    which leads to.......

    defraud- To lead one on, and back out (1Corinthians 7:5)

    Christians court......

    Court- devoted attention in order to gain favor

    Your assertion is that I'm dating, since I'm dating a woman?

    :confused: What would your suggestion be? This I gotta hear.

    I disagree with your conclusion that dating is a sin, if you already haven't figured that out. As for the "keeper at home" verse, I'm currently single, and am keeper at home, and have a career. Being a keeper at home is the biblical responsibility of the woman, but NOT ONLY the woman. Additionally, being a keep at home is not a biblical order to refrain from activities outside the home, including, but not limited to, a career.
