Okay... so this is a joke now? It seemed like it was in the first place...but, you never know.

I'm for making t-shirts that say:

    CHRISTIAN WOMAN DON'T WEAR THONGS!

just kidding... like I would be caught dead wearing something that would make people read what was written on my chest.. not in this life time!

Soujourner, I see you are a close neighbor. We have no liberty to sin and public nakedness is a sin and I would say that seductive dress falls into that category as well and by the way Paul commanded that women wear modest clothing and Peter amened that. Therefore any immodest clothing would be against the teachings of grace. Demons like to get folks nekkid so there seems to be far more demonic influence in the church today than there was in the world as the other one said 50 years ago. Even lost people would have blushed and fussed at a lot of things that Christians accept and desire to have liberty in.

By the way, I hope the wife doesn't get too upset if her husband gazes at a few of the other naked women with a gleam in his eye and neither should he be mad if she sees some lads that measure up to her desires more than him. Good way to start an affair and a divorce.

Should Christian women be allowed to wear a thong? Heck, I'm still wondering if non-Christian women should wear a thong!!!

Here's scenario 1: Would do mind people looking at you in a lustful manner? No? Ok, fine, then wear a thong. But don't complain that people can't keep their eyes in their heads.

Here's scenario 2: Men, would YOU wear a thong in public? If you think you're going to look like an idiot, bingo. To me, it's not about modesty, it's about self respect. Even if you have a body worthy of a thong, and you want to go out in public loking like an idiot, feel free. Don't be surprised if some people gawk at you and other people laugh at you.

I remember the words of my grandmother 35 years ago as we travelled through a tourist town on our way to church. Needless, to say the tourist were dressed in shorts etc. My grandmother who was in our late eighties would exclaim "look at those hussies would you"

Seriously, I do not think that modest apparel includes a thong.

You should come to Cape May some time.

We get a ton of Canadians down here and there are a lot of Frenchies who are into wearing Speedos and thongs.

They're usually about 300 lbs and it's not pleasant.

Mom never got to see thongs, but when she saw a woman immodestly dressed, she would say, "Honey, if it ain't for sale or you ain't giving it away take down the sign." I say a triple AMEN to that and fer sure I ain't awearin' no thong aka butt floss either!!!

One of my favorite cartoons shows a sweet young thing walking the beach in three bandaids. She goes into an on beach changing room and forrgets to lock the door. A lad walks in and she is having a hissy fit because he caught her in her underwear, which covered 1000% more than her bathing suit, but then near naked is allowed when swiming wheras as women weren't supposed to be seen in underwear or at least until TV and Victoria's (Non) Secret got together.

To wear a thong in public may be causing another to sin. Another man may lust after your wife and the Lord tells us that lusting is the same as doing it, so you tell us? Would it be right to cause another man to lust after your wife as she exposes herself to him/them?

James 1:14 But everyman is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15: Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

1 John 2:15 For all that is in the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

    Shouldn't we be asking:

What can I do that will ensure that I'm not of the world? instead of what seems to be happening which is: How far can I go and still get away with it?

Depends on how you define troll and if you can export the combination to the Church. If so, then a Liberal of any kind is a soul troll.

I am not sure why a Christian would be going to a clothing optional beach.

I agree with the general sentiments expressed on this thread but I'm struck by the use of the phrase 'modestly dressed'. This is culturally loaded. Remember, in some cultures women are considered immodest if they show their hair, shoulders, calves, faces etc. In some places women are covered from head to foot in order not to tempt men to sin. In matters of dress women are in a no-win situation so I suggest the lady does whatever she wants to do as long as her husband is happy enough.
