Should members give money to their church?

I am not attacking you as you keep wanting to try and turn the thread to. The thread is about giving money to the church. Everybody is saying yes, then you come and insinuate "They are saying yes but....." I said "They are saying yes, but.... it's none of you business how much." Just giving a clever finish to your own words to let you know it's not your business what people give. The other thing in the thread was about preaching a false doctrine to get your church's money. It has been shown that it is false doctrine for the Church. If you can't fund your church without false doctrine you need to adjust your church's spending.

BTW, the NT model isn't giving 100% of your money to the church as you keep saying.

New Testament Giving

1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
You can’t give cheerfully if you’re poor or in a bind for money at a given time, so tithing would be unbiblical teaching if it puts you in a bind for money. Give out of your love for God, not out of legalistic reasons. If that’s 10%, fine, just pray and ask God. It might be more one week or less one week.

1Ti 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. (unbeliever)


God doesn’t want people going broke to support a Church, especially if it means not providing for your family. Stewardship is what we are supposed to be practicing. Everything we have belongs to God, not just 10%. God’s message is not to build mega Churches that barely spend even a fraction of their money to help spread the gospel and help the poor. Nowhere after Calvary is tithing taught, there is a reason, tithing was for the Levitical priests in Israel. Only Levitical priests could take up tithes, there are no Levites today. We CAN’T tithe, we aren’t Israel in Israel. Paul wrote by direct revelation of Jesus, he never once taught tithing. We are to give all of ourselves to God, time, talents and money. Some weeks it might be 10%, some more, some less depending on our situation. If we manage our money for God, and teach giving out of love, not out of legalistic reasons, the giving will be blessed far above tithe teaching and our Churches will grow.

If one is taking 10% to the church and not properly feeding one's own family, one has denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.

We only have monthly disability checks coming in. Those checks have to pay rent, electricity, phones, gas for the vehicles, food and clothing, etc.

Bills have to be paid. And when the price of living goes up but the monthly income from the government stays the same, the bills only keep climbing.

For a preacher to stand behind a pulpit and oppress the poor by telling them to give 10% of their money to the Church is not biblical at all.

What an answer to a simple question!
If your treasure is where your heart is, and we are to love God with all our hearts, do you love him with all your treasure? Or do you spend any of that love due him on a potato or a pickle now and then, putting those consumables before your love for him?
