Seems to be, but that is an inexact definition. Wasn't that close to the original Catch-22 - if he wants the DP then he's crazy and can't have it, but if he doesn't want it, he's sane and has to get it?

Moussaoui a mastermind!? More like an unreliable footsoldier. But maybe I missed something - what are your reasons for thinking he masterminded anything? If you have anything, I'd be interested.

I think he would be put with the likes of Sirhan Sirhan, Hinkley and Manson.

I agree with you unless we do something out of character... like effective.

We would have to actually use what we know about their religion to undermine the notion that he would be accepted by Allah as a hero... unfortunately the PC crowd would go nuts and turn us into the villains.

</font>
Perhaps " mastermind mastermind" is a bit too strong, but he knew, from what I've read, what was going to occcur 9-11. [IMG]

Well, you know that you can love your enemy while you kill him.

The most I can say the man is guilty of is being a co-conspiritor and and accessory before the fact. Under US common law, that's enough to make him subject to the same penalties as the person who pulled the proverbial trigger. Just look at what happened to the people involved in the Lincoln assasination. But that was then and this is now.

Mind you in the flesh, I'd tell him about the pigskin lined coffin we are going to put his body in. but that's my flesh talking. All I do know is, from the current facts, the man will all too soon be going into a Christless eternity.

Besides, not one person on this board is actually going to push the plunger. The rage and bloodlust I see is, to say the least, unChristlike.

Well, you know that you can love your enemy while you kill him. </font>
I guess that's what God meant when he said... "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.", Right?

It is not warfare against an enemy when a criminal gets justice for what they have done.

Can you cite any place where Christ said murderers should not be executed? Murder by this verse falls under a completely different category than other crimes. It is an attack against the very image of God.

Tragic, the problem is we are reading these thoughts in black and white. Such starkness does not relay to the reader many of a writer's nuancies of meaning (unless you want a full blown 250 word essay). In the end, many here are cheering the (regretable, because we know his ultimate fate) end of a sworn bloody handed enemy of this country.

Was that God or Paul, albeit inspired, who said that?

Christ said ..."Turn the other cheek", right?

What did Moussaoui do? Whose blood did he shed?

Can you cite any place where Christ said that murderers should be executed?

Matthew 5
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Giving away my game?

"Cheering" and "regrettable" are mutually exclusive concepts.

But we shouldn't let that get in the way of a really good rant against the enemies of Amur'ca.

hmmm....with the 3 page warning I go back to my original thought on the matter. Why not give him life in prison? We all know what awaits him in prison. If Christ commanded us to turn the other cheek, and he did, then the entire would would be falling to pot faster than it already is. Somehow, I 'think', and I do use that term loosely here, that perhaps He may not have been talking about people plotting to kills thousands of innocent people in order to become a martyr...esp to become a martyr. I would have a hard time being 'the one' to kill him. That's just not in me. I feel God will get vengence for the innocent lives on 9-11.
It's a very emotional heart-wrentching topic. To me, there isn't a "good" answer to this problem that will be solved soon. Either life...or DP....which result in years and years of legal battles.....
One thing, one feeling from all of this....I think Americans in general are closer to one another...we have a common bond. Through tragedy and pain great and awesome things can occur....perhaps they will.

The only thing I wonder about with a Life sentence is how many hostages will be taken and killed by terrorists who want to demand his release? Of course if he is placed in a general population situation we probably wont have to worry about him living long anyway.

Either way it is the conviction that matters anyway.

I recon we should just leave it in Gods hands and the jury will do his will.

**slaps forehead** Yes, of course, but that was even before they were Israelites, before Mosaic Law. I was thinking of that Romans 13 chapter the DP advocates always pull out.

I think that whole chapter poses a big problem for the self-defense crowd.

I've never heard that that inept, crazy bungler was any hero to Moslems.

What makes you think they will do His will rather than Satan's?
