Should the forum name be changed?

  1. No. The forum name has little or nothing to do with the conflict. Leave it titled 'C/A debate.'

  2. Yes. Intentionally pitting two theological positions against each other can only be trouble. Change

Folks, people don't object to Calvinism or Arminianism because of the names. They object because of the doctrines. A rose by any other name ... well that fits here. We could change it to chickens vs. hens and the debate would still the same.

I'm right with you, but I couldn't resist pointing out the irony of someone with the ID "LaymansTermsPlease" calling for a forum named "soteriology." :D

Even Calvinism and Arminianism aren't layman's terms.

    How about

    "Soteriology (predestination/free-will)"

    or just

    "Calvinism/Arminianism"

    without the word Debate

"Soteriology" is probably the best name with a description something like

"Discussions of salvation theology including Calvinism and Arminianism."

    Pastor Larry,

They object because of the doctrines.

    That is the absolute truth!
