Either way, our little church here in County Kildare is praying for the Gulf Coast.

I also commend the Obama campaign for this:

"Sen. Barack Obama announced that his campaign would mobilize supporters from his enormous e-mail list to send money or enlist as volunteers once the impact of Hurricane Gustav becomes apparent."

When something like this takes place we have to be Americans first, and Pubs or Dems way down on the list of priorities this week.

It sounds like there is a certain amount of redefining of the convention going on.

Doesn't matter what the GOP does. The Left wing hacks will crucify them for it. I wonder what would've happened if this had been a week earlier? What happens if Hanna picks up steam and does something towards the end of the week? If that lengthens the GOP convention, will the Dems cry foul at there being more exposure for the GOP?

I'm not saying "Let them eat cake." I'm just asking for realism, logic and consistency. Here's a thought: why don't the state and local officials do their jobs this time around? And why doesn't FEMA do its job (albeit, an unconstitutional one)?

You sound rather bitter, Tom. That's not like you.

I'm not being bitter. I'm being a realistic analyst. You honestlly think the Obama camp and the DNC spin doctors don't have people ready with ten different ways to spin any GOP response? You're not that naive, my friend.

Kudos on the Hogs win yesterday. After today, think Louisville fans miss Petrino?

Keep in mind...natural disasters are the sole responsiblity of Republican presidents. Individuals, and incompetent mayors and governors play no role in the process.

Furthermore...a political party can be held responsible for the totality of a costly natural disaster...a hurricane of historic proportions hitting a city that logic would say shouldn't even be there to start with...
