Should Trump select Romney for SOS, it would demonstrate character that many of us may not possess. The things said by Romney to derail Trump were blistering and though theyare forgiveable, not easily forgotten. How could Trump ever trust Romney, and his loyalty?

What would you do, if you were in his place?

Also, is Rudy experienced enough to be the SOS? He was one of the most loyal supporters throughput the campaign, and when the "sex-gate" tape was released, Rudy was the first to stand publically and support Trump, regardless of the smear job! That is the type of man I'd want in that office if it were my choice to make. So, what are your feelings about this hot topic issue?

I believe I know why Trump wants to pick Romney.

Because he is looking forward in time to the 2020 election.

With Romney at his side he would then be able to landslide a victory because he could have Romney round up all the neo-cons and RINOs to support him (Trump) seeing that he (Romney) is simultaneously both a RINO and a neo-con.

So Romney is a very shrewd choice.

That seems to be the answer right there. Mitt has been no help at all.

Just based on what I've seen of the two in the past, I'd pick Rudy in a heartbeat; primarily because I would have a real hard time ginning up any trust of Romney!

For starters, he's anti-2nd Amendment. Formed an anti gun group with Mark Kelley, of all people. Which shows he's just another risk averse GO, who has no business in government outside of the .mil. I kinda have high hopes for Mattis, but after the McChrystal debacle and his anti-gun statements, I've just about lost hope in the current crop of generals.

Then you have him playing the apolitical hero. Except he fell into a honey pot set up by his own liberal friends. Lol. It's disgraceful enough for him to cheat on his wife, but with a married subordinate? Tawdry.

The feeling is mutual but I think Trump wants to do all he can to keep him from running for POTUS in 2020 or 2024 again.

Me thinks Romney and friends know that already. Besides it's very unlikely that Romney would follow Trump on all the policy the Donald (and Bannnon )wants to implement. Now I could be wrong but I believe Mitt is too much his own man.

I don't know, Trump would have to have a train wreck of a first term before the RNC would run another candidate.

Should Trump pick Romney or Rudy?

Not sure why one would think it is limited in any way to these choices.

I think Rudy could have the job if he wanted it but I don't think he does and from a practical viewpoint think the job is a little much for someone of his age. I suppose he could work it out but don't see it happening.

I don't think Trump would give the job to someone who has proved how disloyal he can be, so not Romney either. I certainly don't believe Trump would think he needs Romney for a future election anymore than he thought he needed him for this one.

Beyond those two, I would think General Petraeus carries too much baggage and personality conflicts that would make it hard to count on his loyalty. Enough generals already as far as i:m concerned...

I know Ben Carson seems to have some interest in HUD but suspect the SOS position is still in consideration for him.

Its probably more likely that the Media hasn't guessed on who Trump is actually leaning toward and it will be somewhat of a surprise.

But that gives Romney 4 years to dig up smut (assuming there is any) on Trump in preparation for a 2020 or 2024 run. If Romney is working for Trump that makes it less likely.

Remember how the "locker room talk" set Trump back?

The only substantial thing Donald Trump has going for him is that he is a Washington outsider. That is what got him elected. It would be a terrible error to surround himself with Political insiders such as Romney, Giuliani, or Patraius.

As for Ben Carson, he may be a smart man but he has no executive experience, and a huge negative is his 7th Day Adventism. Non-Christians will not want him because of his faith, and Christians will not want him because his cult teaches that all of us who worship on Sunday will be executed at the return of Christ.

    Better keep looking.
