What is wrong with simply celebrating the birth of the Lord without any deception?
We should never teach our children that lying is all right even for pleasure. This is another evidence that the church is on a slippery slope to falsehood. We teach them that lying is all right as long as we benifit from it and that is sin. :tear:

Does that mean we should not allow our kids to watch the Superman movies or TV show?
(This is not a facetious queston)

well it should be a facetious question. I don't think anyone has to be phi beta kappa to know that lying to our children about santa and robbing Christ of His celebration is anything like watching cartoons. If we want to have a party with santa then do so, but let's not say we are honoring the Lord. :BangHead:

first you did not answer my questions.

Second, what I seeking is consistency. If you believe that teaching your kids about Santa is sinful - since he is fictitious, then any fictitious "powerful" person such as Superman, The Hulk, ect would then be sinful

Well the answer is yes it would be sin if you purposely lied to them or allowed them to believe that one of those characters were real. We are raising a generation of liars by teaching children that santa is real.
