No women shouldn't vote! They need to be home rustling up my supper. Neither should they go to school. It don't take no education to cook supper and wash my clothes. They need to keep them children quiet too while I am watching my shows. This new fangled women's lib will destroy America and interrupt my nap.

Interesting question, but for the sake of this topic, it stands to reason that how a woman might vote is not an indicator of whether a woman should be allowed to vote. I support a woman's right to vote, even if she doesn't vote like I would.

I don't accept the results of this poll since women voted on it

Seriously though that someone supports this belief here (BB) makes it embarrassing to be a member.

How many women you need to fix you a bite to eat???

And how come your mama didn't knock that attitude outta your head while you was little? Or do you just keep that attitude to yourself so she don't knock it now even though you think you grown? ;)

This thread did not go where I was hoping it would. I was hoping Aaron -- Aaron, where are you? -- or someone who agrees with him would give his biblical reasons why women should not vote and we could engage in a discussion.

Does anyone have any idea what those reasons might be? I'll have to be Aaron and assume the passage about a man being the head of the woman might have something to do with it.

I hope Aaron makes an appearance. Aaron, if you make a statement like the one you did, you should be willing to try to defend it.

My views were articulated in the other thread. I perused this thread seeing if someone would invoke Scriptural principles to counter mine, but no one did.

Unless I missed it, you invoked no Scripture, just inserted some general references to situations that had zip to do with women voting.

Should women be drafted into the armed forces, and be compelled to spill their blood on the battlefields?

And I was gunna say that "sure women should vote, as long as they vote what their man tells them to" but I was just going to be kidding...kinda-sorta....boy-oh-boy, if my wife had vote for Obama!....nevermind

    should women vote ?

    uhmmm,
    [IMG]
should women walk abreast with their husband in the street ?
should women give their opinion of things at home ?
should women be citizens of their country ?
should women stay in the kitchen and cook and serve food and do the dishes only ?
yeah, I think women should vote.

Why not ? They live in the same country, and if an enemy succeeds in entering and invading this country they will be treated not as women but as enemies by the invaders.
Personally, now that they want to be equal to men in most respects, I demand that they be drafted like men are drafted, and assigned to the fire zones just like men are.
That said, the discrimination against women in combat zones is still going strong, if that article I read about that subject is true at all.

No, it should be the children, the elderly, the injured, and the disabled.
IOW, those who are unable to help themselves.

    Not in my opinion, Aaron.

Women and children first would destroy every family on board. I would think that the purpose of getting off the sinking ship would be to preserve the family unit, if possible.

I think it should be husbands and wives with children under 18 first. This way children won't lose both their parents and some families can stay intact.

Next, it should be those as pinoybaptist said, those who cannot help themselves off the sinking ship.

Next, married couples with no children on board and next single people like me.

Lastly, would be the crew of the ship, be they male or female.

I do not hold to the retarded women shouldn't vote but I would never support not letting women and children go first to escape in any dangerous situation. I do not even understand the mind set that would.

But having said that nothing about allowing women and children to go first leads to them not voting. Where do people come up with this stuff?
