Poncho, you always try to switch the topic to globalism, new world order, or some such thing.

What is your proposed course of action, Poncho? Is it to refuse to serve our nation, to revolt against it, to deny any form of alliegence to it, or what?

How, tell me, do we stop being manipulated and used by these evil forces that control all our thinking?

Just say no! Stop paying them until our grievances are redressed.

    Article the third [Amendment I]

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The founding fathers, in an act of the Continental Congress in 1774, said, "If money is wanted by Rulers who have in any manner oppressed the People, [the People] may retain [their money] until their grievances are redressed, and thus peaceably procure relief, without trusting to despised petitions or disturbing the public tranquility."

In America, the right to petition our government for redress of grievances is the basis of our liberty. Our founders explicitly recognized this right in the first amendment to our constitution -- for they understood that without it, we could not have a servant government whose power is defined and limited by the consent of the people.

In America, the right to petition our government for a Redress of Grievances is an unalienable right. It derives from our faith in a supreme being - an ultimate moral authority from whom we gain our understanding of equality, justice and the rule of law. Implicit in our first amendment constitutional right to petition our government for a redress of grievances, is the government's absolute moral and legal obligation to respond honestly and completely to the people's petition.

This is the essential cornerstone of Popular Sovereignty -- a government of the People, by the People and for the People.

In 1791, the right to petition became primary among the Rights of the People of the United States of America, as expressed in, and guaranteed by, the First Amendment.

Some would now have us believe that our First Amendment right of petition is nothing more than a guarantee of free speech; that this vital constitutional protection - the very basis of our liberty - is simply a right to voice our grievances to the government. Some would try to convince us that We The People do not have the absolute right to an honest and complete response to our petitions -- or the authority to demand that our government correct the abuses and violations of our liberties that result in our petitions. Some would even go so far as to say it is merely a Right to complain, with no expectation of response.

This is nonsense! This is dangerous talk to a free people. We will not listen to those who would denigrate our Constitution, and undermine the principles of liberty and justice that gave birth to our nation. At best they are imbeciles, and at worst they are tyrants -- or "sharing bedrooms" with tyrants.

We must guard against this nonsense. We must harden our hearts to these false notions that government is God. We must recognize that even in the long run government can never be rational, without a principled Constitution firmly rooted in Liberty. Government has but one legitimate purpose -- to serve and protect all of the people equally. Government is not God. It is our servant. It is accountable to the People.

The right to Petition for Redress of Grievances is the final protection -- the final, peaceful check and balance in our system of Constitutional government in which the government derives its limited powers from the consent of the sovereign people. This is the right which publicly reveals and reiterates for all, who is Master and who is Servant.

The way the system is now working is in sharp contrast to the way it was designed to work. The servant is taking over the House: the government has brought us to the brink; the Constitution is hanging by a thread.

Not only is the government neglecting its duties, it is operating outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its powers.

"Poncho, you always try to switch the topic to globalism, new world order, or some such thing."

That's right and you always try to switch the topic to honor and duty and "the cause" which is subject to change without notice. I have no problem with honor and duty these are good things. The thing is though, I think your priorites are a bit skewed. You seem to equate love of country with obedience to the POTUS and a red white and blue piece of cloth. I equate love of country with the ideals of liberty put forth in our founding documents, the rule of law and holding public servants accountable to the people and the law. When those servants subvert that law in favor of elite global interests and give up the power duly accorded to them (and only to them) by the people through a constitution to unelected officials in far off places it is our duty as citizens to stand up to them and do something about it, with honor.

It is not our duty to look the other way and put up with tyranny and make exuses for it.

Most of us, Poncho, are rather familiar with the Constitution and the protections against our government it documents. I don't disagree with the true intent of any of it.

Many of us have taken an oath to defend the principles incorporated into this document and are doing just that.

Many of us exercise our right to of the people PEACEABLY to assemble, and to PETITION the Government for a REDRESS of GRIEVANCES while still supporting and working with those we've elected to office according to the other articles of the Constitution.

I happen to agree with many of your complaints about government which appear Libertarian in character even if I don't buy the globalism new world order theory.

In general, I put the blame squarely on the citizens who've demanded the government services and involvement we now have in our daily lives and not those we've elected to fulfill those demands.

I'd like to see a major reversal in a lot of policy areas and certainly a reduction in the size of our federal government. There are many things we've come to expect from our government that are now used to buy votes and further tighten the noose of control.

I'm just not sure I agree with your approach on how to get to this desired goal.

Are you advocating that we not pay our taxes?

What else, specifically, do you suggest we do?

I've read and heard to much to equate globalism and the NWO with theory. When the heads of state openly speak of it, it's past the theory stage and well into the implementaion stage.

No doubt our laxidaiscal attitudes have contributed much to our decline as a nation as well as our reliance on man instead of God.

I can't disagree with you on wishing to see some reversals in policy and I'm sure there lots of ways to bring about change. Fighting amongst ourselves isn't one of them however.

"Are you advocating that we not pay our taxes?"

If I am, are you aganist withholding your money from the federal government?

I don't have a specific plan, but I'm not alone in this either, the democrats and republicans don't have a plan to move this government back to a more constitutional framework. They seem to be more interested in tax money and what it can do for them and of course power and control.

    Do you have any suggestions?

Okay, here's a few quick unrefined thoughts:

    1. Citizens have to understand that nothing government provides is free. Everything the government does must be paid for by taxes - either their own or someone else's earnings - and always includes a hefty handling fee.
    2. Citizens have to understand that to reduce government spending we have to give up some things we've become dependent upon government providing.
    3. Citizens have to understand that to reduce government control we have to give up some government involvement. The government never helps anyone without many strings attached.
    4. Citizens have to understand that the government is not constituted to solve all problems - economic or social - but only to provide the very basic framework of freedom defined in the Constitution.
    5. Citizens have to equate voting with duty and exercise that duty based on the best interests of the whole.
    6. Citizens have to regain control of education taking it out of the hands of government. Schools need to be completely controlled by local people.
    7. Citizens have to regain control of justice taking it out of the hands of greedy lawyers and their clients. They must end the bleeding cost of litigation, insurance to protect against litigation, and an army of persons devoted solely to law.
    8. Citizens have to demand an end to judicial legislation putting that branch of government back into its Constitutional role.
    9. Citizens have to demand an end to games with taxes that hide the cost of government. They must pay the bill and have direct control over how much the bill should be and what's it for.
    10. Citizens have to demand an end to redistribution of wealth - personal and state - by all forms of government. The government does not exist to make poor men rich or rich men poor but only to provide a system of justice between them.
    11. Citizens have to demand that our government continue to represent its citizens - not those of the world - and not support any agreements that give advantage to foreign citizens. We must remain sovereign and not fall subject to international law.
    12. Citizens have to demand that the time honored basic and majority American system of values, morals, and fundamental culture, including language, be upheld and not destroyed by the demands of small minorities.
    13. We can not be a theocracy because of the known corruption of mankind but we'd best stay a fundamentally Christian nation if we hope to continue receiving God's blessings. Citizens have to know this and practice it even if it can not, and should not, required it to be codified into law as our Constitution forbids. This is not the role of government but the role of its citizens.

Until citizens understand, want, and demand these things, and many more, through the ballot box - their ultimate voice for protest - nothing will change regardless who's elected. I fear that these days most go to polls to cast votes which they have sold to eager politicians in the business of selling what they've stolen from others.

The target is not today's politicians of any party. The target is the citizen that makes up the majority of voters that puts those politicians into office. I think it's more about the representatives they elect - where the power to legislate rests - than with presidents or governors.

It will require a long painful process of education to get people to make very fundamental changes in their thinking. I fear for many that will only come after we've fallen even deeper into the abyss before us and, perhaps, only after it becomes an act of final desperation.

Number 2 is Social Security one of those things?or list the things we give up and be specific.

Number 5 strikes me as odd most people vote their
indvidual concern but you are advocating they vote
as a whole ..and what defines the best interest as
    a whole ..a populist movement..one issue...couple
of issues sacrificing others...be specific..interesting concept.

Number 7. are you advocating no lawsuits ..limited
lawsuits and what about real innocents who have
really suffered ..for example asbestos is that
a legimate lawsuit...are you for the corporations
against the little guy? and how do you protect
the little guy...from the lawyers and corporations?

9.The Iraq war are you saying we should have war
bonds and that it is paid for with that ..of course you don't want to borrow to pay for war
    corret?

    10. I really disagree here ..where is this rampant
or out of control...are you talking about minimum
wages or a living wage for people because I agree
with those ..the rich will always have accountants
and tax lawyers find loop holes and they will stay rich no one is going to get their money anytime soon or wants to but their really is a
stress on the middle class in this country and
if you lose them..well the world can show you
    what happens.

11.So I take this to mean you were against NAFTA and CAFTA which would be good...I am against
a world court as well ..but how do you deal
with being isolated and our resources running
dry ..a manhattan project to solve these issues
    like energy independence..good!

Explain number 12 and be more specific how do
you protect minorities in the real world.

Number 13 is correct and reassues me you are not
some whacko reconstructionist. ;) I have put
this on a note pad in case you change your mind. ;)

alot of these things are still fundementally
being done...WE THE PEOPLE are the government
it has been hijacked by special interests and
    lobbyists.imho

I see a hint of cynicism about the government which is fine..but you need to take all 12
of your items and be more specific the devil
    really is in the details.

Good post Dragoon look forward to the details

It is basically immoral for the government to take money by force from one person and to give it to another person. I know that a certain amount of this will go on because of the fallen nature of man and the desire of some folks for a supposedly "free" lunch. But we need to keep this to a minimum and as under wraps as possible.

Where is this rampant KenH are you talking about
taxes on the rich or taxbreaks for the rich..and how do we pay our fair share..you are being very
general give some specifics...but basically you
know and I know it is the middle class that is
the engine of this country and my goal would
be to protect them and take stress off them...we
should always give a hand up and not a hand out
and we have reformed welfare...and even though at times it looks like special interests snd lobbyist rule the day it is still "We The People" that is our government. The free lunch these
    days is to Exxon/Mobile.imho

Yes I agree Dragoons post should be a seperate
topic so he can give details and his specific
plans or what goes and what stays and how its
going to be a painful process..explain that process..everyone is curious.

As Picard would say for this to be moved to
a new topic with Dragoons 12 point plan.

    Make it so!

I would add one point to #5. Voting is a duty anda privilege and only duly registered citizens should be allowed to vote. That means we have to tighten up on election laws.

I disagree. To allow a person or a corporation to keep more of his or its money is not a free lunch. That is liberal/socialistic thinking that all money belongs to the government and that it is a "cost" to the government if our taxes are lowered.

KenH you know as well as I do I am referring to
corporate welfare ..just look at the new energy
bill it is a giveaway to people like exxon/mobil
stick with the isssue...I never said what you
said...CORPORATE WELFAFE KENH COME ON SPELL IT
    AFTER ME ...C O R P O R A T E W E L F A R E

Exxon should use its own money and not tax payers
money to drill and not bilk the taxpayer.

President Bush on Monday signed into law $14.5 billion in tax breaks for U.S. energy companies and incentives to develop alternative fuel sources that he said would lessen U.S. dependence on foreign oil in the future.

now why does exxon/mobil need a tax break when
they are hauling in 3 bllion profit every 3 months
that is every 3 months and pure profit..and they
are sitting on cash or around 18 billion ..it may
be higher now..so why do they need a tax break
when they canpay for it themselves. That KenH
is pure corporate welfare and you know it.

KenH no way in blue blazes you can justifie

their own money they don't need mine in the

the middle class and by the way did you see
Lou Dobbs tonight "Assault on the Middle Class"

basic question KenH why does Exxon/Mobil need
my money when it has plenty of pure profits of
its own to invest and drill?

The people who benifit with Exxon/Mobil welfare
is of course them and stockholders Exxon instead
of drilling can buy back 20 percent of its stock
so it is welfare and the common American is again
left footing the bill. Has nothing to do with
socialism or whatever fearmongering you want to
use KenH Corporate Welfare it is just plain wrong and unjust.
