    1) If a person commits (really bad) sins, he loses his salvation.

    2) If a person commits (really bad) sin, it proves he was never "truly saved". [AKA A "real" Christian cannot commit (really bad) sin.]

    3) A Christian can commit all manner of sin and still be saved.

3b) A Christian can commit all manner of sin and still be saved. BUT, he will face serious consequences in this life and/or at the Judgment Seat Of Christ.

    4) Something else.

    What say ye?

Paul spoke of the lost and the saved.
Show me in the Bible where Paul spoke of "the not really saved."

No. Eternal salvation is by faith and is a gift of God.

No. There is plenty of evidence of carnal Christians in the Bible and God still considers them His people.

Yes. Talk about long-suffering and merciful!

Absolutely. There are natural consequences for sin in this life and there will be rewards (positive or negative) at the judgement seat for the things done in our body. 'tis where fear and trembling comes in.

Lacy reword the long ones because the forum will not let it post due to its length.

Gal 2:4And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

Looks like the 'not really saved' to me, Bob. Some apparently thought they were Brethren, but Paul disclosed that they were 'false brethren'.

We get excited about not having to have works to be saved. And in knowing that our heavenly Father will chasten us if we need it.

Which one is works, sinning or not sinning????

This was on another thread. I wonder why they canned them? That is what they were taught.

I've been in 3 churches where the pastors were "let go". 1st pastor had an affair with the church secretary. Pastor 2s wife refused to attend church so the church felt he did not have his home in order and basically gave him an ultimatum - either his wife starts attending or he needed to "resign". Pastor 3 was caught viewing porn on the church computer.

Either could be. I'm not saved, nor do I keep or prove my salvation by not sinning. I am a sinner who is saved, kept and proven to be so solely because of Christ's finished work.

We get excited Brother about the mercy of God on this old flesh, and the grace He gives to continue to grow into the Likness of His dear Son, and the love He shows by chastising his children to bring them back from the error of their ways into sweet fellowship once again.

    Praise His Name!

I'm not sure what you are getting at. Do these sins prove that these pastors were never really saved? That is absolutely salvation-by-works. There is no logical difference between . . . aw just read my signature.

Explain to me how that can be salvation by works if they were never saved. I be waiting.

According to your posts and the others including the amen Pastor, these men were just doing what they always did and it was paid for on the cross and cast in to the sea, never to be remembered against them. Something is missing here.

You're making a judgment about their salvation based on their works or lack thereof.

His Son never committed anything like this so I don't think they are looking more and more like Him.

Just answering Lacy's question, thank you
