And may I offer that you, along with Cpl. Maxwell Q. Klinger, look good in either one! [IMG]

BTW, does anyone remember the occasion for the quote from Cpl. Max Klinger??

    pants or skirt?

My question to you is, What if your dress code stands in the way of a lost soul attending your church, which is the closest, since this person can't afford a car, so they are walking? Having such dress codes may cause souls lost to Christ. Do you think Christ wore fancy clothing? I believe He wore a robe made by His mother. I'm sure dirty and worn.

My Dad was a Baptist Pastor for 40 years, he was from the time when women always wore a dress to church. My Mother had never owned a pair of pants in 50 years of marriage, after my Dad died Mom called me one day and asked son do you think it would be alright for me to buy a pair of pants to travel in. My response was Mom I have been wearing them for over 30 years and they haven't caused me any problems.

Since that conversation any time I get an urge to buy a new dress or skirt I simply refuse fearing that they might become tied to my belief system.

    PS
Good for you Chris for starting a thread that has to this point not had any character asasinations in the posts.

    Modesty

How about a choice that says skirts or pants according to the Holy Spirits conviction on my heart and according to what would be modest for the activity I will be involved in.

There are a great many situation in which a skirt is very immodest and should not be worn. In fact, the whole skirt only debate is as goofy as the KJVO or music debates.

Well said. Reason I didn't vote was because there was no "sane" option!!

Modesty is the ONLY biblical injunction. My wife (a doctor) would be more immodest than you could imagine a pastor's wife being if dictated to wear a certain style of clothing in all situations!
