I hesitate even posting this here; but Our Lord is cares about our smallest concerns, so here goes.

Wifey and I were not blessed with children. What we were blessed with was ten years of the comanionship of a golden retriever named Molly. On August 22, she passed away. I do not need to explain to those who have experienced such a loss how tough it is. Though she was a dog, she was our Little Buddy.

We have decided to look for another pup.

I would ask for prayer, if you are so led, for three things: 1. That we would be led to the right dog. 2. That if there is a pup that needs us specifically, we would find it. 3. That we would have the sense to see the Lord's direction, and to make the right decisions.

    Thanks so much.

Yes, it is rough to lose a dog whom you have loved and have gotten so attached to!
God created everything and He enjoys His creation. Praying that God will lead you to a
puppy who will be a means of fellowship and enjoyment!

I pray that God will lead you to the dog who you need and who needs you. I cannot have dogs anymore as my husband is allergic and it makes me sad sometimes. I like my hubby better than dogs but dogs are right up there too. I do tease him that on the way home from the funeral home after he passes away, I'm stopping at the pound! ;)

I admit I'm suprised that my request has generated the response that it has. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and especially for your prayers.

We were out today, and on a lark stopped at a Petco store in Green Bay where the local Humane Society maintains an adoption site. We found two lab mixes which stood out to us. Had lunch. One was adopted out during:)thumbs:), which left the other. We have decided to wait until wednesday, and if Beau is still there still we plan to adopt him.

Wifey and I are seeing His hand in things and are excited about the direction we're going.

LOL Thats cool Arbo.....if it were my wife, she would pick the most pathetic animal in a kennel. Anyway there are soooo many out there. Sure you will find some poor thing that would be grateful for your love & love in return.....no matter what breed or mix you choose, generally they all respond to love. Personally never met a dog I didnt like.....cant say that about people!

Oh, that more people were like dogs!

We (jokingly) are beginning to wonder if we have missed our calling. Beau was the third dog in four days that we chose that didn't work out because someone else adopted them first. I suppose some folks would be disappointed, but we are glad to see them get homes.

It is thrilling to see an obvious leading through this. It gives credence to the idea that Our Lord has a specific purpose here.

EWF and everyone: Thanks again for your prayers. Though we haven't found our pup yet, we know we're closer.

I was an animal control officer for 10 years before I became a 911 operator- police/fire/EMS dispatcher. (which I have done for 16 years)

I believe that specific pets are sent to us by the Lord !!! I have no doubt that the right pet will be yours soon....He is in charge!!

    dogs....

My Parents had a Pomeranian and when that thing died, my Father like to have lost his mind! :tear:

He cried harder about that, then he did, when my grandmother (his mother in law) died!

Anyhow, losing a doggie is rough and I'll pray you find you another one.:jesus:

    Dcorbett, Fundypat- Thanks so much.

A bit of an update. It is good that none of those three pups worked out. A couple of unforseen obligations have cropped up that need tending to in the next few weeks, during which it would not be ideal to have a new pup in the home. So...things are on hold until the middle of next month. Unless...;)

That's how I got this sweetie!

    http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/annsni/SweetSandy.jpg

That was Sandy, our dog who passed away a number of years ago at 18. She literally walked into our lives as a stray and stayed with me for 17 years!! She was 18 years old in that picture!
