I hate alcohol with a passion. It has wrecked both sides of my family numerous times and taken more than one loved one to the grave early. I wills tand against that "spirit" as long as I live.

Smoking is a useless habit and it is an addiction a Christian should not be under.

Whose fault is it when someone abuses alcohol - is it the alcohol's fault? Alcohol didn't wreck your family. Your family wrecked your family. I think it's great if your family abstains now, but you can't blame an inanimate object for the fact that people abuse it.

Boy that is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that. alcohol isn't real, (referencing the fact that it is an inanimate object) who knew?

    Editted for clarity.

What's brilliant is the fact something can be an inanimate object and very real

I also didn't realize a beverage has a "spirit". Are you suggesting alcohol is a "dualist beverage"?

Absolutely. While I wouldn't say they have a "right to know", I certainly agree that it's important to be entirely upfront about your beliefs and practices in such manners even though you're not engaging in them there. The point is not to hide your convictions, and if it is one should seriously reconsider the conviction and those of other members.

Why would you even raise the topic if it doesn't have anything to do with what you're studying?

"Hi, I'm Joe Schmoe, and I'll be your Sunday school teacher today. For the record, I believe it's okay to drink wine in moderation. Now, if you'll please open your Bibles to chapter 2 of Ephesians... "

Seems kind of silly to me.

I do not agree with most scientist to . When they thank we came from monkeys or from a big bang. I do not cover my sin. I will not justifie myself on what I do wrong saying that it is right. There is away that seem right unto a man and the THINGS there are is unto death. So every thing that seems right is wrong.

Apples and oranges. I'm not talking about darwinianism, I'm talking about the biological benefits of certain nutrients and chemicals.

I'm not covering my "sin" either...since drinking is not a sin :BangHead:
What? It seems right the Christ died and rose again. Is that, too, wrong?

Exactly -- sorry if that didn't come across very well. I agree entirely. I meant to emphasize that, while it should not be unnecessarily mentioned, one should certainly not hide one's own convictions if the matter was appropriately up for discussion.

If you read it right you would understand . There is away that seem right to a man and the THINGS there are are unto death. This is from the bible. You know what I mean. (The things) I did not say you was. I said I wasn't.

I couldn't understand it, or what you were trying to convey. I still don't.

You said that drinking is not a sin. So it is ok to you right . There is a way that seems (RIGHT) to a man and the (THINGS) there are are unto death.

Personally, I want to see a thread on "emulations".

How many even know what the meaning is of "emulations", without looking it up? I'll admit that I didn't know the meaning, and my alter-ego is the Language Cop on the BB!
