Pickin’ ‘n’ grinnin’ acronym fans, unite! The SPBGMA (Society For The Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) Bluegrass Awards and Convention will take place at the Sheraton Music City Hotel today through Sunday. The event will include the typical convention staples: name tags, tepid coffee, anonymous banal halls filled with folding tables (plus workshops, promoters, talent buyers, record companies and trade exhibits!). But there’s also fun stuff for the average (Billy) Joe too, including an awards show and a whole slew of big-name performers like Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, Dailey & Vincent, The James King Band, Grasstowne and more.
