So, are Christians supposed to be miserable wretches?

    Being blessed by God has nothing to do with owning a house, how much money you have, if you struggle or not to pay bills, not being lonely and having lots of friends, or are happy with your life. Seems we want God to give, give, give, especially materially.
    God's already given, and it isn't good enough for man, He gave Jesus, and we have a place in heaven. For many christians around the world this is good enough, like the ones posted by David, but in more prosperous countries we think if God doesn't give us money and big houses and cars we aren't blessed. Who are we to challenge God like that?

    unless you're a blab it and grab it Christian (oh I'm sorry, Name it and Claim it.) Most Pentecostal or charasmatic churches.

    Some like to down grade God to nothing more then a cosmic santa clause.
