Does the law serve same purpose though under New Covenant contrasted with the Old?

Think that in OT, The law given to regulate the jewish nation/peoples, to reflect the Holiness of their God, and to point them towards need for a coming Messiah, who would come to save them from their sins...

Now Messiah Christ came died rose again we have law written on our hearts, and we fulfill it by walking in the Spirit and allowing Jesus to live out His life in us!

We are NOT allowed by God to "do what we want" but admonished to yield and walk in the Spirit, and than we will fulfill the law by abiding in rightousness of Christ and empowered by Holy Spirit!

Al Mohler was to show why we need the written law and we do. The law has the same expectations today as it had in the OT times except that we are not under its condemnation. The law written on our hearts only happenes because it is first written in stone. Written in our hearts only means it never leaves us, not that we do not need the written law for without the written law there would be no law in our hearts.

Actually, according to the Bible, under the new Covenant the Holy Spirit produce huis fruit in us, by living out life of Christ in us as we yield and submit to Him, so law has already been fulfilled its rewquirement to God for our Sins by death of Christ, and We need to allow HS to produce his fruit in us...

IF now written Law, the HS would still produce His fruirt in us, as He is God and will mold and make us more into image of Christ!

Show me where the bible says that the Holy Spirit would work in us to live unto God according to God's standards if there was no written law. God is not pumping into the believer understanding when it has not been written. if that as the case there would be absolutely no need of most the NT or the letters to the churches for correction. That is the very thing (false doctrine) that Mohler is trying to correct and Paul is dealing with in Romans.

Is he saying than that the Apostle paul was wrong and not Inspired to write unto us that we are to live in the Spirit, and we will nOT fulfuill lust of our Flesh, and that we live out Christ klife in us?

the law served its purpose, but we Now are under the yoke of Christ, enabled by his HS, and where there is the Spirit, we are freed from bondgae...

We are under a new Covenant with God, and per jeremiah and paul, we are indeed peoples that have law written on our hearts, as our natures now in Christ!

Think that hsi reasoning in this reflect those of the reformed Christians, who hold that we in a sense MUST still obey/keep the law in order to preserve our salvation!

You are confusing security with sanctification. Also I assume by your question you did not listen to the message. Listen to it and the answer is in it.

Will listen to the message once at home!

Just wanted to say though either way...

We kept by the power of God, as our salavtion rooted in the Atoning work of jesus Christ on the Cross, and we are sanctified NOT by obeying the law, but by the work of the HS in and through us daily as we submit to Him!

Obeying the law (commands) is our sanctification brought about by the conviction of the Spirit.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort [you] by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, [so] ye would abound more and more
For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
    That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Abstaining is a law (command) and when we obey we learn or grow in sanctification.

its that we are commanded to submit/yield to the HS, to be filled up with Him in our lives, and that it is HIS work among us to enable/allow us to obey law and commandments...
We CANNOT do that apart from Him!

They obeyed in the OT. In fact Paul says he was blameless, he kept the law of God. Phil 3:4-6 So are you obeying the law and commandments with Him (the Holy Spirit)?

As Apostle paul IF the law could save any of us, would have!
We are sinful flesh could not keep the Law, so in due season God sent forth His Son, born under the law, was to accomplish ALL THINGS by His life and death and resurrection and in that the law was fully fulfilled

NOT one Jot or Titel in Law would be altred not done until all was accomplished, but since HIM we now are under grace, not the Law!

So now we are to free to serve and Love God!

    Who is talking about salvation?
Are you saying that OT saints did not love God or serve Him?

    No
Just saying that we have the means and power available to us now under new Covenant NOT available to those in under OT
Its the infilling presense power of the Holy Spirit!

law used by God under Old Covenant to regulate human behavior, and to show us His perfect Holiness, forcing us to trust in Him, as are sinners needing His mercy and grace

Now under New Covenant, we all have a personal relationship with God through Jesu, and the means to live for Him !

How did the law regulate them in the OT? From what I read in the OT they were as bad as we are in the NT times. Thye had some who lived for the Lord and some who did not. I don't get what you are trying to suggest in regards to the OP.

it allowed for Isreal to be a people who followed God, who rules and laws were NOT as the pagens among them, but as a peculiar people...

The law reflects just how Holy God is, what Holiness we need to be at to approch Him in a realtionship fashion, and also govern how their society was to operate, their "Constitution"

just saying different now, as we are NOT under law in that fashion, but under Grace we are living as God would want us to, but the HS empowering us to live for God!

If God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow then why do you think that He does not want us to live the same today as he did back then? I don't find that assumption in the NT in fact I find the opposite as every command of the moral code is in the NT.
As to government I agree nations are not under command to be under a one world government like Israel, but everything else is the same as best I can tell. We mostly just do not follow it.
