Rest assured, if the government and banks honor it...... It will be spent.... As to whether it does any thing for the economy will remain to be seen.

The last 'rebate', I held onto, initially doubting my own integrity of accepting it with the conservative scruples I had. I lost it in the paper shuffle.... Then, in December, when I was at my wits end as to how to pay my property taxes on my social security, after already juggling some bills, partially paid.... and putting off car repairs needed since last summer..... Praise God I came across that check .....still current, and deposited it and paid with a few added dollars, the property taxes due. A few might save their check..... but many people living on social security..... especially if that is their only income.... will spend it.

As much as I used to shop in the past...... and thought I needed 'stuff', I now pay taxes, and buy gas, and utilities of water, garbage, land line with internet, (no tv cable) and food, and medical when scripts or visits are due...... oh, yes..... auto insurance. Everything else is luxury! Even tp and household supplies..... either get at dollar store (everything $1) or don't get. Can't find it there? I'll do without. Besides there quite a bit one can do the ole-fashioned way with baking soda, plain salt, white vinegar, or a little bleach....... or coconut oil.

    What a testimony...

I agree, they'll spend it and by that time we'll be getting our $13 per week. If 100 Million people get $13 per week that will be $1.3 Billion in additional spending PER WEEK.

by the way, I've said it on here before, so it's no secret, that I am legally disabled, and if I recieve this money, it will not be spent. i know several who will spend it right away, but I know even more who will not. We aren't all stupid enough to waste money.
Nor will we be spending this big windfall of $13. a week either, if we recieve it.

I'll let her know, I don't know anything about writitng payroll checks, but she said she hasn't recieved a new updated tax book(whatever it's called), all she has is the original for 2009, nothing with this update in it. So if they plan on starting 4/1 they'd better get busy getting those books out to employeers, or it isn't going to happen.
Thanks for the info, knew you'd be the one to ask.

It's the government, I have no hope they will get it to every employer on time. It would make sense to put the new rules on line but they're probably etching it in stone and will have carrier pigeons do the delivering.

I've qualified for SS disability and my first day of eligibility (actually getting paid) will be April 1, 2009. Course my first check won't come until May. I think they said the third week. Wonder if even I will get the $250.00. Think I'll splurge and buy a new tooth brush.
