Ok we all know the great stories of the Bible. So what do we know about scientific evidence that proves stories of the Bible. I'm not very well educated in this area but I'm certain their are people here that are. Anyways I'd love some insight into any evidence that way I can refer to it when talking to non-believers and just in general conversation. I believe I've phrased this request in such a way that it in no way can be related to the doctrine of Calvinism and non-Calvinism.

I've got a scientific background. I don't think there is much scientific evidence to prove the Bible. However, there is much historical evidence linked to prophecies that affirm the Bible. Probably not what you were looking for, though...

What about stuff like the Flood, Sodom and Gommorah, that type of stuff?

I think there may be archeological evidence of Sodom and Gomorrah. There are historical artifacts and relics from the Bible. I think you will be hard pressed to find indisputable scientific evidence of a world wide flood.

You are right... Like the fact that virtually the entire surface of the earth is covered by layers. Like the fact that in those layers are buried all sorts of things that could not get there over "millions and millions" of years. Like the fact that there are sea floor items in the rock layers on the top of Everest. Like the fact that coal and oil are buried animal and vegetation. Etc., etc., etc.

The earth is SO much an example of a world-wide flood that science largely misses the forest for the trees. Of note, they "assume" (ass/u/me) that the geological layers HAD to be laid down over great lengths of time instead of almost instantly. That tends to throw off all other decisions they make by examining the evidence at hand -- the same evidence, BTW, that creation science examines.

About other issues... We've dug up artifacts, found inscriptions, examined other ancient writings, looked at ancient cities, etc., and found ample evidence that proves the Bible. In no case has the Bible been disproved by Science. Also, the Bible "knows" things that could not be known at the time of the writing, such as faults at the bottom of the ocean, the fact that the earth is a globe (circumference), that "light" preceded all other creation (which is exactly what science has discovered in the big bang).

Where is the geological evidence containing a layer of millions of human and animal skeletons which would surely be a result of the Flood?

Just a clarifying question: what do you mean by scientific evidence?

Um, they're called "fossils" and we dig up stuff all the time...

There are other explanations. For instance taking thr biblical account into perspective, the water was 30,000 feet deep and on the entire globe for a year. That is incredible water pressure at what is the bottom.

The Titanic is only in 12,000 ft of water and no organic life from the wreck. At certain depths all organic matter is crushed by the pressure.

The water would not have had to be that deep. That is looking at our geography as it stands now and working backward. Great changes in global geography would likely have occurred as a result of the flood, including the upheaval of mountain ranges, the carving out of huge valleys, river systems that drained all the water, ice ages, etc.

For instance, one (of several) creation science theories is the hydro-plat theory:

Additionally, science has now pressed forward to a point where we know that cells are not just "blobs" that can change based on environmental factors. They are much too complicated for that.

    Here is an introductory video:

OK, so where is the layer of human and animal skeletons that would have resulted from the Flood? I would think there would be millions of skeletons embedded in the earth at approximately the same depth, especially in the Middle East.

How many people were alive on earth at the time of the flood?

didn't used to be though. In the day, it was all about making the Catholics life hell & running them outa Dodge. It became about the Calvinists only after they banned all the Catholic's. some of us on here were almost burned at the stake for trying to help them. It was futile however. Like ice in Summer, they were destined to disappear. So there is a lot of pent up rage looking for something to rage at. Maybe we can vilify the unemployed next. What do you think? Not sure how many but certainly many, many tens of thousands more people than dinosaurs. We can find dinosaur bones, where are the human remains?

Of all fossils found, over 95% are invertebrates (non-skeletal water dwelling) creatures. Of the remaining 5%, only about .25 of that 5% are fossils of animals or humans. That low number is generally attributed to the harsh conditions during the flood itself not lending to the burial of bones that could fossilize easily. The bodies simply could have been torn apart and rotted.
