And apparently Ole Miss does: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071127/ap_on_sp_co_ne/fbc_mississippi_nutt_1

What are they smoking in Oxford?!?! Wait, nevermind...i lived in MS for 6 years, i think i know what they are smoking up there.
They fire Orgeron after only 3 years for being less than mediocre and choose to go with Nutt who is every bit mediocre.

I guess this will be good news for the rest of the SEC over the next 3-4 years until Nutt is unemployed again.

I harbor no ill will towared Houston. I wish him well except when Ole Miss plays Arkansas or an Ole Miss loss will benefit Arkansas.

Seems like a smart move for both Nutt and Ole Miss. It is a definite upgrade in coaching for Ole Miss.

If Nutt does as well at Old Miss, as he did at Ar., it will prove to me, he is a rather good coach. Tommy did well there but I don't think he did as well as Nutt did at Ar. David did well but didn't get along with some of the big wigs at Oxford. I think at times they are like Al., Al. wants the bear to come back and Old Miss wants Johnny to come back and neither is going to happen.

At Ole Miss, you have to be able to recruit Memphis. Nutt didn't do that great of a job at Ark. Why should we expect different? Better tradition? Probably. But that matters so little to the younger generation.

Orgeron was simply awful. Nutt is an upgrade from Coach O just as mediocrity is an upgrade from abject failure.

I was driving through SC yesterday and they had Nutt on the radio. He said after the LSU game he believed he had saved his job. But to much division in the state, so it would be best if he left. They ask if he ask to get out or the school ask him to step down. He said I thought after the LSU game I was the Ar. coach then and in time to come, I found out I wasn't. Took the Mss. job because I didn't want to sit out a year and it is a good chance to see what can be done there.
