Do you have a soul or are you a living soul?

    Depends.

When you go to Heaven, does your personality go with you ?

    I think both.

Soul is used in various ways in scripture, denoting the inner being, the entire being, or simply personality

Very much like we use the word today:

    Oh, you poor soul (person)
That saxophone player has soul (style, or personality)
I love you with all my soul (emotion, will, drive,)

There are other examples from modern vernacular, and scripture supports this same usage

    Inner being - Gen 35:18, 1Sam 25:26, Matt 10:28

    Emotions - 1Sam 18:1

    Mind (or conscience) - 1Sam 23:20, Lam 3:20

    life - Lev 26:16, Job 33:28, Ps 3:2, 6:4, Matt 16:26

    person - Acts 2:41, 3:23

center (or fiber) of our being - Gen 34:8, 2Kings 4:27, Isaiah 15:4

    all of me - Deut 4:29, 6:5, 10:12, Song of Solomon 3:1-4

    For what it's worth, scripture speaks of God's soul - Lev 26:11, 30, 1Sam 1:26, 2:35, Ps 11:5, Matt 12:18
