Do folks in your church sit there like they have been eating persimmons?

We have a handful at this current church, not too many though. Now at my previous church...i wouldn't say persimmons as much as they look like they were baptized in bad vinegar.

Actually, I have no way of knowing how the people look since I sit in the 3rd pew from the front, and my back is to them.

I have learned that some people just look that way, it's their natural look, especially older people. It's easy to interpet their look of age, wrinkles etc as a sour look.

    Mmm ... I like persimmons!

I agree with Donna. Worship happens no matter. Maybe emotional, maybe not. Sometimes people are in too much pain to laugh or smile, sometimes they're too shy to make a sound.

I wouldn't use sour faces as a measuring stick. It's not necessarily an indicant of their spiritual condition.

    Ha!

I had a view of one of my students during Easter service and he looked like he was snoozing! I asked him Monday if he had fallen asleep. He said no! Then he said that it was hard, but he managed to stay awake :D

I would have to choose to go elsewhere. Where is their joy?

I have been in a church once where some of the members must have been baptized in pickle juice.....
