Yes, but can avail yourself of the Southern Baptist Foundation for their services in setting up trusts for this purpose?

I need a little understanding here. I am not as sophisticated as you.

    Huh?

The denomination's Baptist Press trumpeted "Calif. Convention Expels Third Way Church" just a couple of months ago when the state group withdrew fellowship from some church.

Yes, I think that we are working off different definitions. And I apologize if I am unable to fully appreciate your view which, if your position is legitimate, is due to a lack of understanding rather than a lack of effort on my part.

For me, it boils down to the idea that only Southern Baptist churches should be in the SBC and expelling non-Southern Baptist churches is not only far from infringing on their liberty but it is protecting the integrity of Southern Baptist churches. A church’s independence is not based on the right to be something it is not.

Think of it this way. Independent Baptist churches are not less independent because the Roman Catholic Church rejects the idea they are Catholic. Churches who ordain gay ministers are not less independent because the SBC rejects the notion they are Southern Baptists.

If I'm not a Southern Baptist, why would I want to be part of their foundation and agencies?

In the case of Crescent Hill they didn't want to leave. Therefore it is logical to assume they liked using the services of the SBC.

Yet they themselves are not SBC by belief. How odd. What services?

I theory they are independent.....and many make autonomous decisions. So many times, though, if making truly autonomous decisions, they face being outcast.

Why does a "creed" make a church a Non-independent church?

All the BFM does it to standardize what SBC churches are to believe in order to be in "association" with other SBC Churches.

I guarantee that ALL Independent Baptist Churches have a similar document or standard of beliefs whether codified or not.

This statement makes no sense to me, please explain????

    Thanks in advance

He can't. He thought it was a good time to display his hatred for the SBC. Which is because the seminaries make professors hold to the BF&M in order to teach there. It makes him mad.

Some seem to think that the SBC runs the local church. Well, they don't.

A governing body external to the local church (i.e., all Southern Baptist churches are independent churches).

I was a Southern Baptist for many years. Now attend a Missionary Baptist Church with Reformed Pastors. The SBC churches are autonomous.
