Was wondering home many have seen this special hour program from the American Family Association? They have a survey to fill out they are planning on using. This special was banned among some major networks:jesus:

You're a brave one, just jumping right into politics. I LIKE IT!

I haven't seen it. It looks like it's available to watch online here: http://www.silencingchristians.com/

I'll have to watch it tonight so I can comment on it!

I don't see any Christians being silenced in the USA. And anything from the AFA is suspect anywho.

It would help it Christians would become more known for sharing the saving gospel of Christ rather than being against things.

    Might I also add....Welcome Timo.

Only because you reject any information of fact with an Ad hominem and refuse to consider it.

This is an example of my prior statement.

There is no evidence that there is any truth to this. It appears to be a tactic to prevent the Holiness of God being proclaimed. Neither should be ignored for it is God's Holiness that makes people who come to Christ understand why they need Him. Both should be giv en equal weight.

You need to learn more. An ad hominem is a personal attack. There is none in my post.

You attacked the source rather than deal with the substance.

That is not an ad hominem. I did also deal with the subject matter. However, AFA is an agenda-driven group. That fact colors their output, making it's veracity suspect. Their constant spin and propoganda is a fact.

A (fallacious) ad hominem argument has the basic form:

    Source A makes claim X
There is something objectionable about Source A
    Therefore claim X is false

No you didn't not one post.
However, AFA is an agenda-driven group. That fact colors their output, making it's veracity suspect.
Everyone is agenda driven. Therefore according to you everything ever said is suspect.
Their constant spin and propoganda is a fact.
No it is a claim made by liberals.

    right

You're right that Christians should be known for what they are for. AFA stands for what the Bible stands for when it comes to the family!!!:tonofbricks:

Technically, MP is right -it is not an ad hominen. However, it is a "genetic fallacy," which is also a logical error. A genetic fallacy tries to disprove or cast doubt on an idea based on its source, not the content of the idea itself. And yes, I notice that MP commits genetic fallacies quite often on this board.

    I explained this already.

A (fallacious) ad hominem argument has the basic form:

    Source A makes claim X
There is something objectionable about Source A
    Therefore claim X is false

Genetic Fallacy is committed whenever an idea is evaluated based upon irrelevant history

MP objects to the source so he suggests all the information is automatically discredited and fails to deal with the substance of the information.

You guys need to read sentence #2 in my original post. I dealt with the issue very succinctly.
