Truly, I am vexed with a potential spiritual dilemma...my University, a major West Coast Christian University has been confronted with the same problem facing many other Christian institutions: Whether to terminate a professor of New Testament Theology who has come out as a transgendered individual.

This professor has been at the University for more than 15 years, and it is my opinion that he, or she is simply testing the waters of California's liberal environment since gay marriage has been approved!

He left the University on Friday as a male, and returned to the classroom on Monday as a "female!" Of course, the University has suspended him or her while they deliberate on what to do! In the meantime, the media has picked up on this story and is stirring the pot, along with a large handful of students stating that the University should not hold this against their professor since "God created him, or her as a transgendered person!"

I say hogwash, and feel personally disappointment at the way the University seems to be heading! I wrote the administration, and they responded as if they will let this slide and accept this person; caving to media and a handful of students and their tickled ear religious beliefs!!!!

Here is my question. I just drew up my will, and decided to leave half of my estate to the University! If they do agree to move to the left of what the Bible teaches, would it be wrong for me to remove them from the will, and let them know why I did this?

I do not disagree with those who want to live their lives as a gay, lesbian or transgender. What I am opposed to is their trying to infiltrate a known Christian institution and force their mixed-up, sinful persuasions on the institution. I do not believe that God made ANY of us anything but male and female! God did not create a third option when it came to genders, and I would feel betrayed by the University if they were to leave what they once professed to be, a Biblical World View of the Gospel and move to a world biblical view of the word!

I appreciate your responses and suggestions, as I feel a lot of emotions with this recent turn of events! :wavey:

First, he is a he, and his form of dress does not change his genetic code, so even though he obviously wants to be addressed by a feminine pronoun, doing so would tacitly be stating that God erred. He didn't.

I am all in favor of reaching out the anyone in the LGBT community, loving them while slowly bringing them to an understanding of their sin, just as I would any of my alcoholic/drug addicted clients with their sin. Judgment will be of no assistance to them, and will close their ears and their hearts to the gospel message.

At the same time, when a Christian institution chooses to side with the world, it has abandoned its ministry, and does not deserve funding for it until it determines to repent and realign itself with God. Love the sinner, hate the sin, and that means not funding the sin as well. Absolutely, if you feel led to drop them from your will, do so, and inform them exactly why.

    Hi righteousdude.

If it were me, I would be rewriting my will and excluding the University.

You are correct, God did not make man to be transgender. Nor was he made to be a sodomite.

If the college is willing to let its guard down and accept those who live contrary to the Word of God concerning gender, what other areas will be compromised next? Seems they are stepping away from God's ways and, as you say, heaping up teachers to tickle the ears.

Drop them like a lead balloon. Look for another University to support. Or maybe replace them in your will with a Godly missions group that sends Bibles out all over the world. People need Bibles, and those who send them out could certainly use the money to print and ship those Bibles to parts unknown.

    God bless.

God chose for us to be either male/female withing the womb, and what he decides, let no man make another!

think need to take a stand for chrsit, and in love, state that this professor has violated terms of employment, as they decided to go on an agenda not compitable with faith guidelines and christian theology!

After reading more into this I think this person should step down and seek serious help for depression/self harm. Obviously this person is not fit to be "teaching" anyone. And not because of the gender (s)he prefers. This is an exact quote.

Change your will to make the inheritance conditional, then designate an alternate.

same scenerio for a Gay teacher to profess that he/she is a Chrsitian, but wants to live the 'way God made them", should a christian university support that, and keep them hired on staff?

    heck, where's the conundrum ?
you know what is right, you can see where this university is going, and there's no way you can stop it because in the end it's all about stockholders or whatever it is they call the likes of them.
I think the way is clear.
take your will, and get out of there.

Not if the Christian university has any hope of being seen as providing biblically based teaching.

    Professor and APU Part Ways!

Today's evening news reports that the transgendered professor, mixed up on what God made him/her to be, has resigned! End of the story, yet hundreds of students and some faculty promise to protest a judgmental university administration that is not progressive regarding Scripture!

I say, AMEN! As for the students and faculty, there is the door, and there are many liberal colleges, especially in California, that would love to have you on their campus!
