Though I have no sympathies for this guy, he will be doing the right thing, and I salute him for that, at least.

Can't say that for most Filipino politicians, though.

They'd cling to power like leeches.

So far, he hasn't publicly resigned but it's expected to be effective Monday.

I think it's the right thing to do and he really had no choice in the matter. Now we'll see what else comes out and what charges are filed or not filed against him.

BTW - I live in NY.

Yes, it is the right thing to do.

    Mystery

It is a great mystery to me how politicians, preachers, public figures can be so stupid. It is simply amazing that seemingly intelligent people can end up acting so dumb.:tonofbricks:

They are not dumb or stupid. They are often sincere (though I do not know in this case...). They are under attack from Satan as authority figures, role models, and social leaders. They often succumb to pride, thinking that they can 'get away with it.' Remember David's "keep me from presumptiuos sins"?

Presumption is the sin of kings... --Jason Reed

P.S. I don't know how to spell 'presumptuous.'

I agree. Regardless of party political affiliations, most of those in government in these United States are decent and sincere.

That one I don't know about. Personally, I don't think so, unless they happen to be among God's people. I think that Scripture in Ephesians 6 you are alluding to mostly pertains to those in the ministry.

Aye. And arrogance, too. Sometimes, as the Crabtown boy said, just plain stupidity.

Mr. Spitzer is apparently a very intelligent person. So I guess we'll put this down to arrogance.
    You just did.

    Thanks, LC!

Personally, I wonder if the NY Governor knows how to spell "Busted!"?
