Starting a new church

    I recently posted for info on finding a preacher. I have looked at a lot of resumes, and I know God will send us a Pastor. Does anyone know where a group could find used pews and church supplies. I realize there are search engines, but sifting through all of the junk is time consuming. I thought there might be a resource some of you pastors may be aware of, that would cut down the search time. Also, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Around these parts, we have a couple of "free" papers... THE PENNY-SAVER and THE THRIFTY NICKEL which usually list churches which have stuff for sale...or you could advertise for these items yourself (if your area has such papers). Even a 'paid' ad in the newspaper sometimes pays off; or a swap-shop plea.

    You could also check with your local churches, as they may have some old ones they would donate to you. I know a little mission here that just recently closed down & it did have several things for sale.

    Seriously, check with the Florida Southern Baptist newsletter (doesn't matter if you're Southern Baptist) and look at the want ads. I know our state publication usually has ads for churches that want to get rid of old equipment and for dealers.

    You'd may want to buy close to home to avoid high shipping costs (although that's my conjecture.)
