I think I posted this topic before, but oh well... Is there a way that I can start my own webpage without it costing anything? I tried Bravenet.com but when I looked around I noticed that I had to purchase a 'home domain'. Help?

If you want your own domain, you're going to have to shell out some bucks. That said, there are free webhosts out there, but you're only a subdomain of their domain.

godaddy.com has domain names at a very low price and their webhosting is fairly cheap as well if you don't find anything free that is adequate.

Been with them for few months now and seems like a good service.

Im not looking for a domain. Just somewhere to have a small website. I made this movie with a bunch of war pics (Iraq, WW2, soldiers fighting, soldier graves, American Flag, etc.) that goes to the song "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood. My dad was so impressed that he said that I should post it on a website. I plan to have that movie, a guestbook, a page on how to get saved, links to websites such as ssbyc.org, baptistboard.com, and other websites, and someother stuff (i don't know what yet!) I will then give a little biography about myself (not including where I live, what my phone number is, or that sort of thing.) Not anything that costs money, just a little dinky website.

You may be best signing up with a blog site as you can make those things available on those. They are free, easy and usually quite adaptable.

Clean, who is your internet service provider? Nearly all ISPs offer up to 5 megs of web space for a website; you may already have a 'free site' available, and not even know it.

If that doesn't pan out for you, send me a private message; I may have an alternative for you.

The local phone company is our ISP. I wouldn't even know how to see if I have a 'free website' available.

Our church uses Bravenet, and we are satisfied with it. It was easy to set up also. And it didn't cost us anything. I know nothing about html! And I did it on my own.
    I know you can.

Depends upon what you really want to do long term.

A blog site is intended to be an online journal - doesn't sound like what you want.

Your own domain and website - can be labor intense.

www.myspace.com - is becoming the defacto standard for entertainment people trying to get themselves broadcast quickly. You would host your viedeo at a site like photobucket.com or tinypic.com and then upload it to your myspace account.

Sounds like you might be of a younger generation and myspace is becoming the meeting place for your genearation like aol had been. IMHO

If you need help send me a message. Personally, I find writing raw HTML to be more fun and usable than a myspace account - but, it is free and just about all of your friends are exposed to it.

    God bless
