When we think of sports streaks, the ones that immediately come to mind are Di Maggio's 56-consecutive baseball game hitting streak and Oklahoma U's 44-game college football winning streak. 1954-56.

We may see another record streak this year...Lance Armstrong could win his 7th straight Tour De France. To me, his SIX-win streak should be among the greatest sports feats of all time.

What are some other sports streaks, good or BAD, which come to YOUR minds?

Cal Ripkin is the most obvious. Dont have the numbers in front of me but it was an incredible streak of just going to work every day and doing something he loved. Also, never complaining about it.

Lets not forget Lou Gherig even though his record was broken it still was incredible.

Would have to look up the number, but Tiger Woods just had an incredible amount of cuts made interrupted.

I believe Tiger made 142 if I am not mistaken... that was a pretty amazing streak.

Peter Brock had 2 Bathurst hat-tricks: 1978-1980 with Jim Richards, 1982-1984 with Larry Perkins.

The St George Dragons won 11 Sydney rugby league premierships in a row: 1956-66

Johnny Unitas' record of 47 straight games with a touchdown pass still stands-- I think. But Indianapolis and Peyton Manning would probably do anything including having him play near the goal line with a broken leg to break that streak.

If I recall correctly, Peyton RAN for a TD last year when the situation was just about perfect for a pass...1st down on the opponent's 5. I can't remember who the opponent was.

Come on, everybody knows the most impressive streak ever is my Cubbies going 97 years without a World Series appearance. There's a streak that will never be topped. (Of course, they're still adding to it!)

Brett Favre has a pretty impressive streak of consecutive games started as QB in the NFL.

That's 97 years without a World Series championship. The Cubs appeared in the WS in 1910, 1918 [Boston's last WS championship before 2004], 1929, 1932 [Babe Ruth's alleged "called shot" homerun], 1935, 1938, and 1945.

How about the New England Patriots 21 game winning streak 2003-2004.
