Our church tries to go to the streets at least once a month and minister to the homeless, most of the time it is the last Wednesday of the month, we collect cloths and food all month and then go and hand them out. Last night we wound up on the streets of Houston, and found ourselves in the middle of a handful of women and children. It is a very hard thing to see little kids cold and hungry, it's not just in Houston it's all over the world, we were able to help some with jackets and blankets but then we ran out and still had people left, it breaks your heart to have to say sorry but we ran out. It seems to me that in the very near future there are going to be a lot more people on the streets, it could be one of us. It was hard, but it was fun in a way, someone in our group always gives a short message and we will pray with anyone who ask and even if they don't ask.
Anyway I said all that to say please pray for the people we meet, and for us. now we are looking for a trailer so we can take more stuff, God will supply He always does

You are doing a good thing in helping the homeless. Keep it up, strengthen the program and go out even more often if possible. Sadly I believe you are right, there are going to be more homeless on the streets before the economy recovers ... lots of broken dreams, lots of broken families, lots of sad times.

    Blessings.
