I can understand checking what the boy brought to school. But taking him away like a common criminal. That is excessive. So, how will this influence him to view the US as a peaceful country where he has rights?

The Japanese were imprisoned by your progressive hero, FDR, for no reason other than their ethnicity. They were, by all accounts, loyal Americans who embraced our culture and our country and posed no threat.

The same cannot be said for Muslims and anybody who thinks Muslims are not a danger to us is a fool.

FDR isn't my progressive hero. If I had a "progressive" hero, it would be his cousin Colonel TR. The internment was backed by the Republican governor of California, Earl Warren. It was also based on the anti-Asian politics of California. At the time, Chinese and Japanese bore the brunt of racist thinking and actions in California.

None of which has anything to do with the slanderous nonsense you spewed.

And who did I slander? The police and school officials? They let their paranoia get the better of them and they overreacted. Though in dealing with the current situation, a bit of paranoia is a good thing.

    As I once read

Me, by stating that I would have supported Japanese internment camps when, in reality, I've been very consistent in listing them as a Progressive evil.

No, I said the same type of thinking led to the internment of the Japanese Americans. And their relocation and internment was backed by much more than simply the "progressives." FDR acted on the advice of others:

    • LTG De Witt
    • California Attorney General Earl Warren (I goofed earlier and cited him as CA's governor)
    • The Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West
    • The California Department of the American Legion
These among others can hardly be said to be progressive.
Non-military advocates for exclusion removal and detention

Sorry, but as a native Californian, I'm not going to let the progressives be the fall guys on this one.

The good Lord knows they have enough to answer for at then judgement throne.
