Why does the admin allow a couple of posters to call people bigoted and accuse members of this board of celebrating the deaths of blacks? Why are the reports on those posts ignored?

I think, Rev, that the Moderation on this board must have surely been Raptured, because I have seen no response to some pretty blatant violation of standard forum etiquette.

    God bless.

Bigot: a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

And all reported posts are acted upon. But for serious issues which fall short of needing immediate attention (such as posting pornography, profane language, etc.) the Admin Council discusses the issue and does not act until we reach a consensus. As not all Admins/Mods are on the BB 24/7 it often takes considerable time to reach that consensus. We really do have lives apart from the BB, you know. :)

However, just because you report a post does not mean we will edit, delete, or censor it. Sometimes the Admin Council does not agree the complaint is legitimate or serious enough to warrant action. Some times it does.

Sometimes we send a private message to the person who authored the post being reported asking them to tone it down and exercise a little polite discretion. We sometimes give the offender the opportunity to edit his/her post him/herself. If the poster refuses to do so then, and only then, do we take the necessary action agreed upon by the Admin Council.

So, be patient. Act like adults. And we will do what we do when we do it. :)

I just wanted to say that I pray none of you will ever hear me saying anything bad about others. It doesn't matter if I agree, disagree, or prefer pink over purple.

I say a prayer for all of you at BB here every day, and please know this:

ALL lives matter, and we are ALL children of God.

    Purrayers,
    Pook

Forum Leadership might consider an "alert" notification to the ones reporting the apparent violation when the report has been closed, with or without action.

Let's not pretend that the word "bigot" is not intended to accuse someone of racism.

Right now the "closed" function does not notify the complainant that the issue has been noted and is under discussion, and/or resolved.

We are researching a way to inform the complainant that the complaint has been received and is under consideration by the Admin council.

We will try to keep you posted as to our progress.

If I was Admin I wouldn't even consider a report unless the 'reporter' has first advised the accused that they have been reported.

Curious, were you forthright and up front with the poster(s)? They have any idea they we're being reported?

I do not see any benefit in auto notification that the report has been received. But a notification when the report is closed, with or without action, would be beneficial. And I also agree with the concept that if action is taken against the reported poster, either edit or deletion, a notification should be given.
