    If you think the music issue is just about rejecting new music, you don't understand the reasoning at all.

    No preacher that I know rejects Contemporary Christian music because it is new.

    is any form of music really sinful though?

    isn't God glorified by petra/Imperials/Elvis singing to him?

    I never thought that...although I am more fond of the traditional (older, that is) hymns. What I was getting at was exactly what part of the music you deemed wrong...which you have answered (the rhythm). While I disagree that this is the determining factor I do believe that one can listen to the music and determine where it stands in terms of Galatians 5 (which fruits it brings to mind). But I am not sure that this is entirely objective.
