What did you hear Sunday that is still rolling around in your mind today?

    I heard two different messages.

    Think BIG.

    You were meant to prosper.

    What did you hear?

"God created man in His image, yet man has set out to recreate God in their own image. They do this because they do not want to deal with the true God."

I'm sure he mentioned, "But God is a loving God and He wouldn't send anybody to hell" as one of the false images of God created in the minds of men.

We had an ice storm on Sturday night so we had no church on Sunday, since most people do not live in town, but come in from the country side. We had 1/2" ice on our windshield.

What did I hear that is still stirring in my mind?????

    Ummmmmmm!

    Ummmmmmm!

    Ummmmmmm!

    Oh, yeh!!

    1John 3:8

The word "devil" here comes from the Greek word, "Diobolos"---and means "to scatter or to shatter"

Jesus said that the devil is like a wolf. The wolf comes to scatter the flock!

    (1) The devil comes to "put distance" between"(scatter) the sinner from the need of a Savior!

    (2) The devil comes to "put distance" between the saved person and the saved person's Master!

    (3) The devil comes to "put distance" between the Saint and the Saint!!

But we have Jesus! Hebrews tells us to "consider Him!" Jesus came to destroy the "works" of the devil! He came to join together the things that have become seperated and scattered and shattered!!

    Halalujah, What A Savior!!!

    Brother David

Sunday Evenings message really hit home for me and struck my heart, I think the Lord was with me and has put a burden on my heart.

It was about abortion and homosexuality.

The abortion issue is what stuck with me. I have and never would have one, and I find it very hard to beleive women would do this to their own babies, and the partial birth abortion, I have seen pictures that is burned in my mind.

Anyway, I have heard messages on this subject before but this time it was different. I felt the Holy Spirit there with me, and even though the thought of abortion makes me sick, I really feel God is swaying me toward maybe getting into that part of the ministry.
I will be obedient if that is what he is calling em to do but I need to pray more about it to make sure this is it.

But that is what is stuck in my mind about Sunday!

Unfortunately like most sundays, nothing. </font>[/QUOTE]It happens [IMG]

Before and after the preaching/teaching is my favorite time. It's when I get to chat with folks and hear their stories.

I learned more about how one persons college studies were going and how he is considering moving to Charleston SC to finish his degree.

I was invited to a home group meeting that Sunday night.

One man began to tell me about his 13 year retirement and what he used to do and how stressful it used to be. He enjoys fishing a lot. He seemed to really enjoy telling the story.

The messages I heard are still rolling around, but even more are the faces and stories of those I met with.

Sunday morning, my pastor preached on "The Shedding of Innocent Blood," or in other words, abortion, in honor of "Sanctcity of Life Sunday." In the evening, he preached on "The Stewardship of Your Prayer Life." That message really got to me and really helped convict me and since then, I've already improved my prayer life.

I preached 3 times Sunday, so won't have ANY thoughts rolling around my brain.

Missionary from Puebla, Mexico, shared a testimony and then a phrase. "Cultural Attrition".

Missionaries simply get worn down from dealing with the bureaucracy. Ride buses for hours to be told you don't have all the forms. Bribes. Electricity or water sporadic. Bombarded daily from every side.

    Cultural attrition.

I heard something that has stuck in my mind all week:

If we allow Satan to have a foothold, it will turn into a stronghold.

    That was profound.

The thing that stuck with me this week is how we are filled with the Holy Spirit. He stated three ways 1. repent 2 ask to be filled 3. act like we are filled. I thought that was a fairly profound statement.

Every monring I tune the radio to hear Alexander Scourby reading the bible. Currently in Exodus.

There are images like Moses being allowed to see the backside of God (that was after Moses asked for it), How Moses pleaded with God for certain things. How demanding God's best intentions can be and how stiff necked his Children were at that time.

Those things stick with me. They tend to make me feel agreeably small and insignificant, but not resigned to being useless.

    Dave.
