Support our troops—bring them home now, alive . . . rather than later in body bags!

Know what? The leftist Democrats are not getting much of a crowd at their events for pullout now. It is not like the old days when college students could be mobilized out of fear of the draft. Of course, there are all those splinter 3rd parties that have called for an immediate pullout, but some of them are "sensitive" about being named publically for what they believe. Do you think that Mrs. Clinton could mobilize the left as well as the 3rd parties? With her record and her husband's record, I have an idea--perhaps wrong--that in 2006 the Democrats are going to say that the war is mismanaged but are not going to call for a pullout.

There is no substitute for victory!

And a military victory would be a political setback for the left and the 3rd parties. But Bush should be able to win--notice that he has closed the Gaza salient. However, Iran seems to be building an atomic bomb to drop on us and Syria remains an active enemy against us. Next summer should be a better time to protest the war with the 2006 fall elections of more interest, huh?

Let's bring them home in a reasonable, ordered manner. We cannot simply tuck our tail and run.

What's wrong with isolationism? Do we have a mandate from God to kick every "evil" nation's butt? If so, we should be kicking half the world's nations, not to mention our own! If we just focussed on our own problems and evils, I dare say we would not be a target of terrorists for nuclear annihilation.

Their is a big discussion and debate now and
in the future Craigbythesea. About 3 months
ago...you could hear the repetition of "stay the
course" now you are starting to see fall back.
Which is fine they are free to do so. It does
look like a vivid sectarian and civil struggle and
how can a mom and dad ask their loved one to die for an Iraqi internal matter...but you still see bush going to the 9/11 well deceiving the American people.

Iraq has been mismanaged by bush abysmally just
like he has run past companies into the ground..
and he always needs someone to get his rearend out
of a bind and it will be the American people and
he will retire one day with multi-millions and
have Karen Hughes write him a fluff piece for his
    memoir.

We do need to draw down the other choice is increased quagmire in death and costs..you watch
when bush asks for 50 to 80 billion again it will
not come as easy and strings will be attached big
    ones.

We really have defined victory now! in Iraq but
bush has to be careful not to close that window
and have discernment to see that it is closing.

Look for the far right to start blaming others
but themselves it is their nature..no responsibity
or honest accessment of their short soundbites
or slogans...they have to blame others..so they
can stay puffed up in self righteousness.

Congressman Tom Delay said in a past war

"You can support the troops and not support a
Presidents policy" now he speaks otherwise but
I agree with his initial quote and it is the
right one...bush policy in foreign affairs is
bizarre and has sent us down a notch in the worlds
    eyes. imho

    Dumb questions:

    1. Who appropriated the funds to wage the war?

    2. Who elected the Congress?

    3. Who has the right to vote?

    4. Is the majority of the body politic in this
    country taken in by duplicity?

Let us clean off our mirrors and take a good look in retrospect.

    United?---we stand.

Support the troops--and the Commander In Chief.

"Support the troops--and the Commander In Chief."

Amen to Support the troops and pure [IMG] Oscar Mayer
to the other side of it..bush policy is horrendous
and he used deception and mismanaged Iraq.

Tom Delay said this about Clinton and his
    war in Kosovo.

"You can support the troops and disagree with
    the Presidents policies"

    amen to that!

    4. Yes that is how history will write it. imho

I would be blunt to call bush a bald faced lair
but I think with him it is incompetence and stubbornness that people think is resolve when
alot of it segues into not being curious enough
and doing your homework..bush did not go into
war as a last resort.imho he may have said it
but I believe he was disingenuous.

I'm afraid the only thing that will bring our troops back is a few nukes detonated on American soil. And I hate to see the blame game that goes on then. And the countries we try to send troops to because of their "ties" to terrorism. And the total destruction of the stock market and failure of the almighty US dollar will mean little to no tax receipts for the government to run any war in any country! This is the eventual end-game that is almost certain to play out. And I ask again: do we have a God-given mandate to kick the butt of every "evil" nation in the world, or not?

On D-Day plus one on Omaha Beach and others(I was one month old), we certainly seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Many soldiers were. Some of those beach battleworks were virtually impregnable--16 inch shells were not very effective. The logistics of this battle were terrible, yet typical.

We took the beaches, villages, towns, cities--all the way to Berlin. The price was high. It had to be paid.

We liked the Supreme Allied Commander who led the charge--we even elected him Commander in Chief.

Yes, the President of the U.S. is also the CIC. That is an awesome responsibility for one person. He must rely on input from many others in order to make right decisions.

The problem still lies with: we, the people.

We seem to be in a similar quandry as we were in Southeast Asia about forty years ago--fighting a war without an obviously just cause--according to some anyway.

We are at war, people. Our apparent discord in the body politic is aiding and abetting the enemy. If we appear to be weak and unresolved--the enemy gets braver.

Can we quit bashing our President and get on with doing that which is right?

It is time to rally around our flag and our Constitution for which so many have died to defend.

Pull our troops out, now? I wish the left would acknowledge some responsibility for the 3 million people slaughtered in Southeast Asia, when we prematurely pulled our troops out of there. I have friends from there who lost relatives in their "re-education" camps, simply because they were Christians. Not to mention the fact that by failing in that mission, we dishonored the 55,000 Americans that died there (many of whom I also knew), and the hundreds of thousands maimed. These losses were in vain, because we didn't finish the mission. Do we really want to dishonor the nearly 2,000 troops who have died fighting for the liberty of not just us, but the peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan? If we pull out now, that's exactly what we would be doing.

Do you really want to repeat that? Is it going to take a WMD used on our cities for you to wake up? This is, in fact, WWIII. Should we just admit defeat? Try to appease the enemy? God forbid! Look at what happened in Bangladesh -- Al Qaeda claims that they will continue their terror campaign there until Bangladesh government imposes fundamental, Islamic law that the people don't want. Is this not sufficient to convince you that their aims are to do the same thing worldwide? Do you not hear their boasts to make London the capital of an Islamic world? They are not fighting us because of our policies, and this is made clear by their actions in Bangladesh, Kashmir, Thailand, Pakistan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and a whole lot of other countries that do not replicate our alleged, aggressive policies.

"'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace." (Jer. 8:11). This seems to illustrate the left perfectly. How many people died during ANY of our administrations, while we sat by and watched? As a superpower, in fact the ONLY superpower of any consequence, we must ACT like a superpower. We have the means and the responsibility to stop the slaughter of innocents, whenever and wherever possible. God raised this nation partly for this reason.

The demands of the left are as selfish as they can be. "Isolate ourselves, the rest of the world be [email protected]" Let's ignore the blood flowing in the streets of Iraq, where a dictator slaughtered perhaps a million of his own people; genocide in Kurdistan, Rwanda, the Sudan, and half a dozen other places? God forbid!

I agree we have reforms at home to enact, but we CAN walk and chew gum at the same time. Didn't we do so in WWII? If we had fought that war NOW, with the attitudes of the left and the dainty notions of a liberal press, we could not have won that war.

Finally, why does the left bleat over the dead in Iraq, yet ignore the 4,000 murders abortionists perform every day? Is this not where reform should begin? 33 million dead, which far outstrips the Holocoust? A whole lot of innocent souls are building up under the altar of God, calling "out in a loud voice, 'How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" The left's cries for support of "peace, peace" rings hollow...

Show resolve - Support the cause!

Anything short of that gives support to the enemy.

Honesty and integrity should be our resolve—and we should support that cause! We entered the war illegally by violating the sovereignty of another nation under a pretence that was based on highly inaccurate information, and those at the top level who evaluated that information KNEW FOR A FACT that it was based upon VERY scanty and HIGHLY unreliable intelligence.

Please read the Congressional resolution on the war to get a better understanding of all the justifiable reasons for which we went to war with Iraq.

Many liberals only like to look, retrospectively, at the intelligence data that seems to have mislead us all without regard for the other solid reasons that still stand.

As I recall, even Saddam himself was telling the world he had weapons of mass destruction and that he'd use them. He might have been bluffing but we don't have to worry about that now.

The war is completely legal, completely justified, and we need to show resolve and support that cause.

To do otherwise is to give credence to our enemy.

So any given Muslim nation, where abortions are illegal, could justly detonate 10 nuclear bombs on America because we've inhumanely murdered 33 million babies? That's far more than Saddam ever dreamed of killing. Present day just war doctrine has a lot to be desired.

I guess that you are probably right:

    • Wars destroy military equipment that must be replaced making the defense industry rich so that they can give more money to the Republican Party so that they can start still more wars

    • Military officers enjoying playing with their toys

    • Military officers are promoted much faster in times of war

    • By declaring war on terror, the Republicans with a lot of stock in insurance companies saved a fortune because they don’t have to pay claims when the damage is “war” related

    • By declaring war on Iraq, we made most of the world hostile to us, so now that they are hostile, we can invade them and steal their oil, diamonds, women, and anything else that we want

I don't know a single military officer that "enjoys" war. They are professionals who train for war, and if ordered into action, do their jobs. During war, equipment is replaced due to losses , and soldiers of all ranks are promoted faster due to losses , which is the nature of wars of attrition. These losses are soldiers killed or wounded in battle. I suppose they sit around the table dreaming up wars, in the hopes of being promoted faster, or being wounded, or killed? That is absurd.

I'd like to know just how we are "stealing" their oil, diamonds, and women... Are we stealing their women and selling them into slavery? If our soldiers even messed with a woman over there, the honor of the family would be settled by killing those soldiers. And, if we are stealing their oil, why are oil prices so high? The Iraqi government is in full control of their monies and income from their natural resources. This is why the Sunnis are opposing a federation -- because the Sunni regions don't have any oil, but the Kurdish and Shiite regions do. The whole concept is ludricous.
