The court has apparently refused to take the case!
Soory about that---the link works now.
Why your obsession with homosexuals? First a poll, now this. And isn't there a rule about posting on human sexuality in open threads?
Don't worry about MP. He likes that word obsessed. Of course there is no evidence or truth to it.
If there was a draft I wonder how many young people would say they are gay to keep out of the military and thus insure they were never to be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan?
I do not know why people get so hot and bothered by the idea of gays in the military. When I was in the military in Germany ... way back in 1960-62 ... there was two gay fellows in our company. The company commander gave them a room together and told them, "I don't care what you do behind that closed door, but if you bother any of the other fellows I will hang you." Now the company commander was very tough and very fair and everyone knew that he would do exactly what he said.
One time on a field problem he tore a major up one side and down the other when he did not do what he, the major, said he would do ... mainly get supplies up to the radio team I was on. We were stuck with no supplies in below zero weather with tons of snow. Our cc was a captain, but still he ripped the major to pieces. Then he sent his driver with his jeep loaded with supplies up to the three of us. It was most interesting.
Number 1, its immoral. Number 2, whether I'm at war or in basic training, I don't want some homosexual staring at me while I'm in the shower. I wouldn't have a problem with a heterosexual who used to be a homosexual (who has changed his lifestyle) joining.
You act like that a homosexual is a race rather than a lifestyle choice.
If that's the case then obviously my being fat would have to be the same thing. After all, it isn't my fault that I don't diet properly or that I get enough exercise. I was just born that way. It boils down to making decisions. The military has standards that has to be met. If you are above a certain weight or your BMI percentage is too high, you can't get in. The same used to go for those who were homosexual. I remember when I went to a recruiting station in the 11th grade & the Army recruiter crossed out a question on the information sheet. I told him, I'll be happy to answer that, I'm perfectly straight.
I could see how putting fat people (such as myself) in the military would be very beneficial. I think 8 to 9 weeks of rigorous physical training would do me good. In fact, I think they should have basic training especially for fat people. The training should be twice as long & twice as difficult (physically & psychologically). That would mean 16 - 18 weeks of drill sergeants yelling in your face & keeping you in line.
Putting a homosexual through basic training will not straighten him out. What would straighten him out is counseling.
Hey MP, how did you answer the pole BTW?
So, no answer? But of course the rule against the discussion of human sexuality doesn't apply to anti-homosexual comments. I didn't answer your silly poll, because there was no answer I agree with.
Man, there must be some bad mojo in the water down in Florida!!
Are you really that insecure. Do you mind if a lady doctor examines you?
I have no idea where you got that idea.
Different topic, so I won't address it.
Rather absurd and quite dishonest since I see you as being much smarter than this. You would not have homosexuals showering with straight people for the same reasons you do not have coed showers. But then again you knowthis already.
Then you'd better not go to the gym, the YMCA, or anywhere else. Plus, even on the street, there may be both women and men checking you out. You never know. You can't control the thoughts of others. And maybe you aren't that pretty! LOL (just messing with you now).
Straw man alert!
Truly you need to understand what a strawman is. BBM doesn't want gays looking at him. The point is, they are likely already doing that. Who cares. I say, let 'em look at what they ain't gettin'!
You used a false argument to defend your position. His concern was not that people were "checking him out" while walking down the road. His concern was showering with homosexuals. These are not the same thing. You could not defend the shower problem so you created a false argument based on simply walking down the street and trying, badly I might say,to make them equal.
Sorry, you are again, as usual, incorrect. I used it in the large context. Notice, I also mentioned the gym and the "Y", where communal showers may exist.
Get with the program Mitch!
I was speaking to the walking down the street. Clearly a straw man. But based on your straw man philosophy everything should be coed. No one is forced to live in close quarters at the YMCA or the gym. However, for all you civilians who do not know what you are talking about, in the service there are many situations where military personnel are made to.
Again you demonstrate your ignorance. I proudly served in the U.S. Army, so maybe I DO know what I am talking about. And so what? I would bet there were closeted gays in the military (if you served) who you never knew were. And it would be presumptive to assume they were interested in you. Yet another point...what would make you think anything untoward would happen in a shower full of guys anyway? Truly, I don't get the concern here. I am heterosexual, but if a guy expressed an interest, it is very easy to say, "Sorry, but I don't roll that way."
For the same reason we do not shower coed, share rooms coed or anything else inappropriate. If it is wrong to do it with women it is wrong to do it with men. Common sense.
If you have showered in a boys high school locker room, a college shower room, in a men's shower room in the military, or in an athletic club shower room ... they you have showered with gays. Obviously you may not have known they were gay. No gay would be stupid enough to approach another fellow in a shower room ... that would have been a way of becoming very unhealthy fast in the high school I attended, the college I attended, and surely in the Army ... especially in the Army though we knew that at least two were gay in the company was assigned to in Germany.
I have said for years I feel very sorry for women, the only thing left for them is men and I have yet to meet a man who appealed to me in the least. I really do not understand homosexuality, but I am not afraid of gays ... I am very secure within myself. Sometimes I think that people who are so afraid of gays must not be very secure with their own sexuality. No that is not an accusation of anyone, just a thought that has crossed my mind.
