As you can see by the animated banners on top of each page, this month the BB is sponsored by SwordSearcher Bible Software.

Unlike the Superman/Clark Kent syndrome, I have "seen" Barnabas and the Webmaster in the same room together. :D

    Perhaps one is a hologram?

Hey, wait a minute! What is this, a secret conspiracy against Barnabas?! Now I understand why LindaB sent me an email intended for the Webmaster. [IMG]

Sorry folks, but Bro. Clint is right. We two are not the same person. Although we both have the same given name, Barnabas, but while the Webmaster is a dot.com kid (no offense Brother Barnabas), I myself am a senior citizen. And that is the Gospel truth. [IMG] So, there is no mistaken identity here LindaB, these two B's are worlds apart. I wish though that I could roll back the clock some 30 years. Now that would be quite interesting! [IMG] [IMG]

Now that we have established who is who, and more importantly, who is NOT who, back to the subject at hand. Oh, and BTW, Granny, Halogram was pretty funny. You got yet another guffaw out of me! ;)

I downloaded the trial version offered at the site in the banner ad at the top of the page out of curiosity. It took 1 hour and 18 minutes with a 40,000 bps connectin.

I am VERY impressed with this software. The creator of the SwordSearcher4 program has included a very impressive array of resources in this package. Even in the trial version, there are four complete commentaries and a complete Strong's lexicon. All of the different tools are completely crosslinked allowing for quick cross-referencing and thorough study. I only played with it for less than an hour before I made up my mind that I wanted the complete CD-ROM version.

If you are a serious student of the Bible or if you wish to deepen your understanding of the harmony of the Scriptures I strongly recommend that you check out this program. My own check is in the mail right now and I may purchase another few discs for Christmas presents this year.

I sent an e-mail to the creator asking about the maps (which are not on the demo) and he replied that they are public domain allowing them to be reproduced with no further permission.

I occassionally teach Sunday School to adults and I have always tried to go further into the backgroound and implications of the Scripture than our quarterly. This resource has already revolutionized my potential for giving an in depth analysis of a given passage. This software is obviously the work of a man who loves the Bible.

OK, LindaB, now that we established that I am not the Webmaster, I can return to my Clark Kent identity can I not? [IMG]

BTW, I received the SwordSearcher Delux Version 4.2 CD via the mail, and installed the same. It is quite informative and I like the various features with cross references. But I couldn't figure out something yet: How do I cut and paste from that program? Any hints?

You can use this link to get to the site and the developer will know that the hit came from the BB:

You can either just right click and copy/paste, but to get the exact verses without pulling them up and not get the references and stuff, just go to the top of the program page and click "Edit". If you hit "copy verse" you can enter the book, chapter, and exact verses you want to copy, then hit ok and you got it. Just right click to paste it.
It gives you options to copy the rest of the stuff too.

Thank you Gina for the information! It was simple enough, and painless to perform the task. I tried it already and it works. Will need some formatting though after pasting, but it is better than typing the whole thing manually. Thanks again! [IMG]

After having downloaded SwordSearcher in the past and tried it, I still think the best thing out there is e-Sword, and it is completely free!

If you give it a try, i don't think you will be disappointed. [IMG]

Barnabas! Yay! You don't have to format it after you copy it! It does it for you, all you have to do is set it up once, very simple.
After you go to Edit and Copy Verse, there's a button there that says "Configure Format"! You click it and just pick one. It shows examples of each when you click the letter. You probably want to pick "E". You can even have it list what version you're listing. Then when you copy verses it's always in the format you set it to, unless you want to change it. So simple!
