My son was using my computer yesterday and now when I try to pull up task manager it gives a message that the task manager was disabled by the administrator.

    How do I enable it.

This link will help. What seems to have happened is you/someone has disabled the Task Manager in the Registry.

If you ran RegEdit or any of those types of programs, it could have done it without you really knowing.

Try this link and see if it will lead you to fix this problem.

    Great link, Jamie.

    Tim,

Sounds like you need to make him his own account... without admin privileges.

    Hey thanks guys it worked!
    trotter, I think I will.
After going to the website I used method 1.
Here it is if anyone else hever has this problem

    Click start
    Then Click run
copy and paste the following line:
    REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

    Then hit ok.
I saved this on my key drive in case this happens again.

What would I do without Baptistboard? I know...
    sleep!!!

Don't forget to add a password to any admin profiles on your computer...

Well it happened again, and this time it didn't work with the cut and paste option, so I used another method from the link above.

And the funny thing is, I know I have this info on my key drive, I just don't know where my key drive is!!!
But I always know BB is here!

Are you sure your son did it a second time? You may want to scan for a breach in your security.

    Got rid of that bug!

Besides, my son never uses this one... I have to take the blame!

So far so good.. I've been using it for a few months now.
I like the fact that it runs quietly in the background. And I only see it when I need to.
