Just know that as you grow older your thoughts on things change, especially about style and music. I wish now I would have listened when I heard that piercing scars your body. A scar can fade eventaully, a tattoo though isn't so easy to get rid of. Also, honestly, they aren't that becoming on a female. Your body will change a lot as you get older and so will that tattoo.

Of course that's ok! God accepts us no matter what. (Be careful not to judge.)

I personally do not want a tattoo and if a fellow Christian had one I would not have a problem with it. My grandfather, who is one of the godliest men I know, has a tattoo. (I will say he did get it before he was a Christian and he wishes he never had one.) I think it is left up to each person to decide whether tattoos are sins or not.
What do ya'll think of ear piercing? Sin or not??

"Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD."
"2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

i dont think its for each person to decide whether it is a sin or not i think its whether you want to obey God or not. whats more important what you want to do or God's word?

right woodyR...and regarding the Revelation versus Godmusic girl..I agree as far as, it does apply to the church..but I dont see how anyone can think that it cant apply to the indivuals as well, to not be a lukewarm Christian. It seems pretty clear to me. And I wasnt saying that it applied to tatoos in general, I said that it applied to the so called "Christian tatoos"
    As far as earpiercings go..
I believe that if its wrong to pierce your belly button or you tongue..than its wrong for your ears too. A hole is a hole. And a hole that you are putting in God's temple, at that!

Yes, actualy I did think of that, which is why I said in my first post: "If someone had a tattoo before their salvation, that of course, wouldn't be brought up because it's under the blood"
Your past dosn't matter after salvation, because you become a new creature in Christ. That means all of the old is gone. God sees the blood of Christ and it satisfies Him. That sacrifice on Calvary was the propitiation for our sins. That big ole' word means satisfaction. The sinless Lamb's blood takes away the stains of our sin. The Bible even says that He puts them in the sea of forgettfulness. They are GONE.

She is right, one of the most Godly men I know, Uncle Brian (he is not really my uncle, he's my dad's best friend) Got a tattoo before he got saved. And one time at church camp one o' the boys asked him at the swimming pool, (I wasn't there, this is just the story)asked him "what is that?" and Uncle Brian said, "the biggest mistake, I ever made."

My grandpa is not ashamed of his tattoo he just wishes he had gotten it in a place where everyone could see it. I feel that you people judge people way too much. If someone wants a tattoo that is between them and God not you and them who are we to try and convict them that is the Holy Spirits job. If and when they get one we should not judge them. You need to love people to Jesus. Hate never teaches love. How many times to we mess up and have to ask God for forgiveness? Maybe we should look at ourselves before we look at someone else.

2 TIM4:2 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

the Bible says to reprove and rebuke because they arent going to listen to the Bible

Woody, be careful what you say my friend. Even if someone got a tattoo after being saved it's not your right to condemn them. Sometimes we forget about minding our own business and being careful about judging others.

This world needs to have some people that will stand for what the Word of God says and preach against sin. We shouldnt condem and we should love, but calling out sin for what it is..is NOT judging. Its simply obeying God's Word.

    Leviticus 19:28
Is telling them to not be like the pagans he is not telling them that all tattoos are wrong he is telling them not to put pagan things on their bodies.

I think you missed my point. I didn't call tattoos sinful or not B4G. I just simply pointed out that assuming that one who has a tattoo isn't Christian is wrong. And nothing is wrong with preaching against sin, you just have to make sure you don't cross that very fine line where you are then judging. It's for God to decide what is right and wrong. Thanks for the verse ISHOULDBEHAPPY. I think it clears up a lot!
