I understand the joke, but really why is it so important to offend muslims? Do you really think Christ would do the same thing, or are muslims the new "untouchables", i.e., "unsaveable"? If only some Christians were so zealous about their own faith. (and no I don't mean killing off non-Christians, nor do I believe all muslims are out to kill/convert all non-muslims)

 

:BangHead: I wish Muslims & others were as offended by other Muslims saying that because they're not Muslim, or Muslim enough, they deserve to die by the hundreds, as they are by a stupid sandwich prank.

Yeah, that's what's wrong with Islam, sandwiches. Not beheadings, not female mutilation, not intimidation on the airlines, (ie...Americans just don't get it)

And so it begins in our country as well. They will win the war from within because of our ignorance and lack of faith in the ONE TRUE SAVIOUR. We say God Bless American but then we throw Him out of our schools, our public buildings, our institutions and our universities, and now we recognize a false god in a public institution. I pray for mercy on what this country will become. God will not tolerate this forever.

25 years ago we had the exact same argument only in place of islam/muslim it was communism/communists. Guess what the world didn't end with communism.....

It's not that some Americans don't get it. It's that some Americans realize that not every muslim is a radical fanatic who practices beheading, female mutilation, and/or airline intimindation. In fact SOME Americans have taken the time to get to know muslims within their communities and have come to the conclusion that they are people like everyone else. Radical thought indeed. Imagine if all Christians were judged by the idiots during the crusades.

 

This is what you get when the government and religion get intertwined. It might not be YOUR religion. This is why neutrality toward religion is the best position for government. And before anyone starts hollering, "Christianity is the majority", well it isn't the majority in some communities, even in the good old USA.

 

Yeah, that is hate, and moreso because none of that is true.

 

Umm... tacky, maybe. But, mind pointing out which part is not true?

Also, let's not forget that they are clamoring to get a law passed (much like the one requiring bathrooms for handicapped) that would require public buildings to have their toilets facaing the "correct" direction to not offend devout Muslims.

 

Which way are Muslim toilets supposed to face? My goodness, I lived in Muslim countries for quite a few years and I seem to remember they faced all different directions!

I just did a quick Google, as I've been getting my info in bits and pieces. Here it is in one place. People have been having a heyday with it. Also, it's only relative to the most devout Muslims, as not all Muslims practice this.

Muslim Toilet Rituals

I was reading one press release from a UK travel bureau, and it warned Muslims to bring their own stuff for their rituals, as they are not readily available in the UK.

 

The difference is we actually fought communism in many different ways.
