Tax returns for candidates

Romney wants Trump to release his tax returns.
How important is it for a candidate to release tax returns.

If I were to run for President, I would ask 3 Dems and 3 Rep - as a committee to review my returns. However they would have to sign a non-discloser form. They would give only one of two public statements. 1) We have found nothing irregular in the returns --- or 2) we have turned over our report tot he IRS for possible tax fraud.

If a person wants to keep his charitable contribution and other details private -he should be allowed to do so
