I always do my own taxes. I started using H&R Block online last year and it is a free service. They do charge $27 for your State return but the Federal is free. I refuse to pay someone $100-200 dollars to do something that is fairly easy. If you use the H&R Block website it is REAL EASY. I challenge you all to try it. God Bless

I file mine myself as well, although I use another one of the online packages. I only paid $19.99

We use Turbo Tax and we will file online. We will have to pay to the state but receive a refund for federal and it will outweigh what we have to pay. Unfortunately, our tax refund will go to pay property taxes. LOL

Interesting that I filed mine this morning, and within a half hour, my federal was accepted. About 8 hours later, my state was accepted. Woo hoo!!

I have used TurboTax online for over 10 years but I am looking for something cheaper as I just use 1040EZ. Any ideas? I looked at a certain big box store but TurboTax software there was about $30. Online it has starting costing about $60, about 4 times what it used to be.

Do you have to file state tax too or just federal? Because federal online is free.

I just found out my refund has been deposited. I filed online as soon as I had all the info, which was uncomplicated this year.

We will owe....we ALWAYS owe. I file them by hand, ours are never easy, always complicated and I never file them until April 15. No sense in giving up a dime before I have to :(

I had to put some in an IRA to keep from paying taxes. I got back $32.

    Well that's overwith!

I'll get a huge refund in local taxes
This is the first year they took out local taxes in our paychecks - and my wife mailed in our years estimates so we sorta double payed the local taxes.

I usually have H&R Block do mine because it's too complicated (for me anyway).

They can do my itemized deductions better than I can & can usually come up with some that I wasn't aware of.

I still hate to pay taxes, especially when I know that some of my money is going to fund abortions and to help prop up governments that are avowed enemies of Israel.
