That is laughable coming from a fan of a team coached by Phil Fulmer. </font>
Big boy gets the business... but on the other hand, he has disciplined some pretty good football players all the way...

Banks, Schaffer, and Ontario Smith all three might have been the best player on the team when Fulmer dismissed them for acting like thugs.

You gotta put Fulmer in yhe same boat as Spurrier.Fulmer has went as far as meeting with rape victims at Shoney's to talk them out of pressing charges. I would probbally rather have Spurrier.

    Go Vikings !

I have a hatred for Packers and every team that beat the Vikes in the Super Bowl...(no that's not everybody! ha ha!)

I love the Twins AND yes, I love the Yankees also. (My Great Grandfather played for their farmteam)

The Cowboys fired Tom Landry. What's not to hate?

Can you document that for me? I hadn't seen it.

Again, Fulmer has kicked some great players off of his team for much less than rape.

BTW, I don't care for Spurrier but he is a better coach than Fulmer.

    </font>
It was reported on WJOX 690 about 2 years ago. He went there to talk the victim out of pressing charges. Fulmer is a snake, he slithered in and Got Majors fired. That was a shame. Majors had class.

Manning flashed a female trainer but Fulmer took care of that. He let the trainer go. Fulmer is all about Fulmer.

I know that accepting bad ideas about someone you don't like is attractive... like I really can't stand Dale Jr and have to be careful to believe things just because they're bad about him.

That said and since I am a Vols fan, I need a little more proof than a sports radio station reported it. Maybe if you could remember more details on what he supposedly said.

A coach has a vested interest and responsibility to make sure that his players aren't being falsely accused just because they are football players. Richt should do the same if one of his guys gets accused and denies it.

Heath Shuler came from my home town and grew up in my childhood church. He was recruited by both men though he seemed to like Fulmer better. If Fulmer caused Majors to get fired then it probably would have been news back home... it wasn't.

Again, you want to document in context what Manning and the trainer each did? I am not excusing the behavior but if you think females in football locker rooms go in naive or don't "expose" themselves to certain kinds of crude humor then you aren't being realistic.

Should there be rules and punishment? Yes.

Should there likewise be punishment who blow things out of proportion to make a name for themselves at the expense of someone who happens to have fame? Yes.

Again, I look at the things he has done to some very good football players like Ontarrio Smith, James Banks, and Shaeffer. The extreme actions indicate that Fulmer looks at the issues case by case and judges them accordingly.

In reality, I would just as soon you be right so someone else could take over a very full cupboard. Just imagine if a Spurrier or Stoops or even Cutcliffe took over at UT... and stopped them from playing not to lose.

If Fulmer's "get tough" policy is a recent development, I can only hope it coincides with a will to dominate every opponent for every minute of every game. It truly makes me sick when they grind it out against Vandy or La Tech rather than scores equal to their talent advantage.

In ways, Fulmer and Spurrier remind me of former coach Bob Pruett of Marshall. Pruett took MU football to its greatest heights ever, skillfully guiding them into Class 1-A. However, he slowly abandoned the philospphy that had gotten him up there...throwing the ball downfield long and often, which kept the running game open. Also, a lack of discipline had begun to creep in. Sure, in earlier days he had players like Moss, Kresser, Pennington, Toviessi, Scuillo, Leftwich, Darius Watts, Yates, etc. but his adoption of a conservative approach began to hurt the team; they began playing to not get beat instead of playing to crush the opponent.

Discipline? His starting QB after Leftwich graduated was Stan Hill, who had not fully recovered from an injury, and who was well-known around campus as a heavy partaker of giggle water. Now while we shouldn'ta expected him to just step in and be as good as Leftwich, he was too erratic and often made poor decisions under pressure. He just didn't GROW as a QB. It's not as if MU had no other QB candidates.

However, Pruett will be remembered by me as a great coach despite his slippage his last 3 seasons.

    Spurrier conservative?

I think his NFL failure was predictable. He was never the kind of guy who could stand someone else's ego being more important than his own.

My favorite college football team is anyone that plays the Syracuse Orange. (They are no longer called the Orange MEN!) This past year SU has hired a new chansellor, and Athethlic Director. One of the first order of business was to fire Coach P. He did take the team to a bowl game, but since SU lost, it was a good excuse to get rid of him. (BTW, I am now a Dallas Cowbow fan! as Coach P is now an assistant coach)

After all the local build up for SU and its Great new coach, WV beat SU!!!
