Telephone Information Being Gathered on Churches???

    I just got off the phone with a man who questioned me regarding the name, meeting place and approximate date of organization of Unity Missionary Baptist Church and name and address of the pastor or senior pastor.

    He was particularly intereted in whether we held our meetings in a home or in a specific building set aside for the purpose of worship.

    Is there an organization that does this? This is the second such phone interview I have had since coming here last October.

    Any thoughts, ideas? Conspiracy theories? :cool:

    Well, if I was selling something like church pews for example, I could call the church and have someone just tell me they weren't interested, or I could call with a few questions to help me determine if the church was in its own building and whether it was old enough to be an established church that could afford my product. I would ask for the name and address of the pastor so I could send him a nifty personalized brochure for him to read at his convenience. It just might provide more sales than simple phone solicitation.

    I get these calls every couple of months. However, I provide no info. It makes them made but they get nothing. I believe they are selling the information to companies who sell to churches.

    Found that to be true, trapper. Gather and sell information. Web sites, emails, addresses, etc.

    Leads for all sorts of companies that LIKE to do business with churches. Odd bunch, for sure!
